Summary: The Best American Short Stories
Review: I bought this book after looking at some of the names on the back. Especially appealing were, Saroyan, Cather, Wharton, Harte, Dos Passos and Anderson. The stories selected from these authors were not the best of their works, but overall it is a good sample. Additionally, there were some suprisingly good stories from people I had never read before, especially Zona Gale, whose "Nobody Sick, Nobody Poor" was excellent. Overall, a few stories (The Gold Bug) are let downs, but most are excellent and worth the time to read.
