Summary: OUTSTANDING, I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN
Review: This is a book worth reading. Lori Byrant Woolridge is a talented writer. This is an outstanding first effort. I found the story capitivating, I simply did not want to put it down. You will enjoy the story as well as Mrs. Woolridge's style of writing. Without giving anything away, I found the subject matter interesting, though it is somthing that I never think about. In that vein, I also found it a bit educational. But in the end, it was a novel with believable characters that was extremely entertaining to read. I certainly felt a full range of emotions angry, worried, sad and finally a sense of relief and elation. You will deny yourself a treat if you pass this one by. It is a story about people and how they deal with their ghost and about freedom and self-discovery. It is about greed and blind ambition. Finally, it is about the power of love, it's destructive and healing forces. ENJOY!!!!

Another smilar book that I enjoyed was "Welcome To The World Baby Girl" By Fannie Flagg. I would give "Read Between The Lies" a better rating then this book, because it developed the characters in a more interesting manner. "Read Between The Lies" draws you in quicker and holds your attention better. Though by the end, these two books offer very curious subjects and interesting and exciting stories.

Summary: Not Like The Rest
Review: When the story first started out, I'll admit the scenario withcharacter Gabrielle drew me in. Gabrielle was young, beautiful, somewhat innocent, who wanted a job but had a secret that might stop her from getting that job. I believe the writer did a fine job causing the reader to sympathize with this character who was beautiful but had fears and insecurities like everyone else. I enjoyed reading about Gabrielle's nemesis named Stephanie, definitely the most outrageous and interesting character in the book. None of the romances thrilled me... I felt like I was reading a Jackie Collins novel, which is not a bad thing, but I didn't feel like this was a story that I could relate to because it seemed like I was watching events unfold for the sake of entertainment. I guess I'm used to reading books that mostly give you the opportunity to connect with the characters because you've been thru what they're going thru. In "Reading Between The Lies" it was liking watching people do things whose path I'd never cross. I did enjoy reading about how illiteracy affects those who suffer from it. Overall, this was a good read that keeps your interest. END
