Summary: An Interesting Premise, with a Slightly Stuttering Story
Review: It's a premise that appeals to anyone who has ever had a brush with religion: What will we actually do should the Second Coming come in our lifetime? For the characters in James Patterson's latest book, this question becomes a reality. The church is trying to quietly investigate the claims of two girls who say that they are virgins but find themselves expecting. This sets up the big question: Who will have the savior and who the destroyer? This question alone should capture the reader's interest and keep them turning the pages. Unfortunately, the majority of characters won't be able to help out. While the girl from Ireland is well developed, her counterpart in New York acts strangely at times. Not to mention the NYC girl's housekeeper, who loses it completely with no explanation or reason. The other characters seem to stumble through their lines and positions with little background or motivation. The book ends by setting up for a sequel, but I hope Mr. Patterson realizes that there is nowhere left to go with this idea but down...

Summary: Wonderful quick read
Review: In spite of all the bad reviews, I decided to try this book out for myself, and I'm glad I did. It was a great book, finished it in one day. I thought the suspense was great, and it was refreshing to read a different genre of story. And to those of you who prefer the "Alex Delaware" books, those are written by Jonathan Kellerman. Patterson writes Alex Cross books. Hard to trust your reviews if you can't get your authors straight!

Summary: One Wierd Book!
Review: This was one wierd book! But, I loved it! I am a true Patterson fan and this one surprised me. I did not read the 'Virgin' so I did not know what to expect. It read and moved fast and always kept you wanting to know more. This is a great 'beach book'! I read it in two days. If you haven't read Patterson before, give it a try. If you have read Patterson before, this one will show you another side of his writing. Though his trademeark style and mystery shine through. I enjoyed it!

Review: Even if you have not read Virgin, this remake is not worth the time. I've enjoyed many other Patterson books. Not this one.

Summary: What a disapointment!
Review: I never even thought of reading the intro, as I was reading I was thinking "wow is this amaturish" after a 50 pages I read the front cover and what a disapointment to realize that this book was one of his first works! It reads as a "first work". Pass on this James Patterson book.

Review: I have read everyone of his books and most were far out, some sickening and I couldn't continue reading. I pretty well can tolerate the series with Alex Cross. This book was stupid and boring. He seem like he got a little tired of writing good and just threw something in. Now I know why my book store sold it at 25% off. Too me it's an evil story about evil. Even his picture on the back of the cover looks intense. I don't recommend this book, buy something uplifting and worth your precious time. Read the bible if you want to know about the end of things.

Review: I could have read the first page and then the lat page and known the whole story. Too bad, because I really like Patterson. He usually writes great stories. But I guess everyone can have a bad day.

Review: Cradle and All was such a bad read! Was this really written by the man who writes such great novels as Kiss The Girls, Jack and Jill, etc? Please go back to Alex Delaware and leave such trashy reads as this to someone else. I really wasted my money on this. BEWARE of buying this book!

Summary: Demise of another author
Review: As an avid fan of Patterson's earlier books,I expected a book with an interesting plotline and some modicum of creativity. I even cointinued to read it after its lackluster start and primitive, religious guilt based storyline - expecting somehow he would show his abilities as an author and pull this one out of the dung heap. Unfortunately, it only got worse. It is hard to choose whether this book is a greater insult to the innocent reader or Mr. Patterson's earlier books and skills. If you are bored out of your mind, have nothing else to read, including nutrition labels on cereal boxes, you might want to read this poor imitation of a novel.
