Review: hello! is anyone awake after reading this book! i read hunt for red october and got hooked, this is a disgrace for clancy! it you like to write 700 pages of college notes with an example plot twisted into it-go ahead read it! its funny that this is coming from a die-hard tom clancy fan! he has been getting better with his characterization, i especially like clark and chavez, but jack ryan must go . . . you cant use the same character in each one of your books! but, do read all his other books!

Summary: The best Tom Clancy I've read
Review: I usually try to avoid gushing in the titles like that, but of the four Clancy novels I've read (all having to do with our hero, Jack Ryan), this was the most enjoyable. Clancy let his main character prove that he's capable of more than just CIA work, but that he can win a war while he's at it. I couldn't put it down and was NOT ready for that ending!

Review: I read Rainbow 6 when it first came out after that i went back and read every Clancy book in order. This one was Superb with Ryan in Washington and Clark and Ding trekking around the pacific it was GREAT. A very believable book though hard to believe the Japanese would do that. I particulary loved the reunion of Portagee and Clark a great part for any one who has read Without Remorse and other Clancy books.

Summary: Debt of Honor Brings Realistic Action and Espionage
Review: Debt of Honor is a book by Tom Clancy about a war between Japan and the United States that starts over a trade disagreement. The turn of events that triggers the war are creatively thought out and frighteningly realistic. The book follows Jack Ryan as the President's National Security Advisor as well as his colleagues John Clark and Ding Chavez in the CIA. The novel covers all aspects of the war with great detail and wit including the diplomacy, espionage, technology, politics, and military usage of a war. The book pulled me in from the rising action in the beginning to the explosive ending that leads into Executive Orders, the next book in the Ryan saga. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed any of the Jack Ryan novels or movies.

Summary: Great plot with a dumpy ending
Review: Very entertaining book for the long business trip. Ryan and Clark are up to their normal superhuman business, but what makes this story is the carefully planned out plot. It's plausible, in some sense, what with the recent rise in nationalism dominating the headlines. Too bad for the "made-for-t.v.-movie" ending. It really spoils a fun read.

Review: DoH is - as all TC books - a long and very well written read. There is lots of surprising twists and turns, but in the end it's up to a small group of all-american superheros in their amazing machines, to save the USA again. This lack of credibility - together with too many one-dimensional characters - makes it a bit of a disappointment as a whole. However, the first half makes it worth the time and effort.

Review: Tom Clancy did an excellent job in presenting a story and making you want to read further. He set the ending up to coincide with his next book perfectly. The research that goes into his books is phenomenal. He makes things as realistic as possible and gives people an insight into war and life in the military. This book prompted me to read his nonfiction works.

Review: Debt of Honor was my first audiobook and unfortunately, everything since has had to compete with it. Great selection for any road warrior's audio-library.
