Summary: IT'S A SERIES!!!
Review: This is absolutely, positively without a doubt James Patterson's best book. The plot, the twists, everything leading up to an incredible, unbelievable ending.Reading through the reviews of this book, I have seen people complain about this book not being good because to be as shocked by the ending as one should be, one would have had to read the entire series before it. THAT"S THE POINT OF A SERIES! So, while you don't HAVE to read the previous books in the series first, it is helpful. But, the book will still shock you without reading the others first as it literally comes down to the last sentence of the book. In short, read this book.

I find that I am then forced to buy the other books just so I can find out the ending.
The story is great but it should be noted that this is a series before you buy it.

Summary: Absoring!
Review: Roses Are Red is by far the best Patterson novel I have read. This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire way through. I could not put this book down for one instant. The suspense never let up, the action was constantly there and the reader was held in the "psychological" grip of "what could possibly be next?" The "next one" always managed to top the previous one. Alex Cross never got a break, having to deal with staying ahead of the Mastermind killer and his personal life becoming filled with twists and turns as well!. Phew! The novel was gripping, the plot twisted and turned and Patterson had the reader in the palm of his hand! I did not know who the killer was until THE very end and then I was stunned!! Patterson fans and Alex Cross fans will not be disappointed with his newest book! I can hardly wait for his next book, which I am wondering, if it will be a sequel to this book or will the weasel make an appearance? This book definitely deserves a sequel!

Summary: Alex Cross v. the Mastermind
Review: Let me begin by saying that I like Patterson's books, and have read, and enjoyed, all of the Alex Cross novels. They are fast-paced, filled with events and action, and hold my interest. With the short chapters and lack of a lot of description, they are easy to read in only a few hours. That having been said, I must admit, to my chagrin, that I did not like this work as much as I had expected, and it's all due to the ending. I never spend time while reading trying to "guess" who the killer or such is; I know the author will let us know in the end. In most books, there are subtle clues that, ocasionally, point to the correct person, and astute readers may be able to discern his or her identity. In this book, I really believe that the author pulled the villain out of thin air, for there is nothing anywhere in my reading of the book that even remotely connected this person to the action and crimes involved. I was greatly disappointed, for I expected more from Mr. Patterson. My rating should be lower, I know, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt, for it's possible I missed something along the way while I was reading. Don't get me wrong; you'll enjoy this book, and it will keep you turning the pages quickly. It's the ending, though, that may give you pause. (I'm holding up the ballot to my forehead, looking for the dimpled chad, and discern..... a sequel!)

Summary: Alex Cross at it again
Review: For some reason I never get tired of Alex Cross and the incredible situations and antics that Patterson dishes out. Perhaps it's his ability to pull us into the story, head first, or perhaps it's his knack for writing believable situations and characters. For which ever reason, I never fail to enjoy his books, especially the "Cross" ones. Of the three books I've recently read (Da Vinci Code, Bark of the Dogwood, and this one), "Roses" is by far my favorite. The other two are great also, but the Alex Cross series really does it for me.

Summary: Quick Read
Review: As usual, Patterson puts together a moving story that involves murder and great detective work. In this book, Detective Alex Cross works with the FBI to solve a string of robberies/murders that keeps you turning the pages. My only hesitation in rating this book with 5 stars was Patterson's tendency to weight this book down with a lot of family/personal problems that the lead character (Cross) was experiencing while trying to solve the mystery. While personal problems are certainly a part of life, I felt it was a bit overdone in this book. Patterson is very knowledgeable of police and FBI procedures and reading his books is always an eye opener to the world of crime fighting. I highly recommend any mystery fan read this book.

Summary: forced twists to a good story
Review: "Roses are Red" is a good story. But you know what? I hated the twist at the end...I know a lot writers, especially suspense ones, like to add a surprise at the end...although the story's ending is a super "gotcha", i felt it was forced and didn't make sense because it was at the last line of the whole book. Also there are many supposed-to-be hints through the book and few of them got evolved by the end. I was a little disappointed for that reason... above I only said the nagetive sides of the story, but this generally is a good book...one of detective Alex's dangerous, mysterious cases...I enjoyed reading it ----below is story spoiler----
the story is about a psychotic series bankrobber/killer (or maybe more than one killer? not to spoil it all for u) wanting to get revenge by killing in the bank robbing process...now when fbi and local police are after him, he started his own haunting of the fbi agents...all who were involved in the robbery got killed by the "mastermind"...who is he and what he wants?

Review: This was one of the best thrillers that James patterson has evre written. The ending was kind of skimpy but once you read "Violets Are Blue" you will be amazed. This was soo good it had everythinhg I love Pattersons work and this was one of his greatst works

Summary: Quick start, great race, poor finish.
Review: DC Homicide Investigator Alex Cross joins forces with FBI to battle wits against homicidal Mastermind. Non-stop action kept me on edge throughout the book. There was one too many twists at the end which did not fit the rest of the book which left the ending somewhat disappointing. It was like watching an exciting competition for a couple of hours only to end in a tie.
