Rating: Summary: Didn't know how to end it... Review: SPOILERS
I was really enjoying the book up until the last 20-30 pages. I felt like the final addition of Ellie's pregnancy was predictable and cliched, and offered no emotional addition other than a final tug at the heart strings. Really, you got me, its sad, enough trying to push me into it. Also I thought that the final plea bargain was a cop out. It was as if Picoult just couldn't decide between guilty or inocennt. Sorry, as a writer thats your job. Personally I thought that, had I been a jury person, there was WAY too much reasonable doubt to convict. The prosecution offered to proof that she killed the baby other than "it was dead, she was there, we can't prove that anyone else was or wasn't, so it must have been her." In this day and age of DNA and forensics these kinds of cases don't rely soley on "So Katie, tell me what happened." It was a great effort, and Picoult did a wonderful job portraying the Amish, but the investigation and trial were pretty lame as trial stories go.

Rating: Summary: Plain Truth Review: This book was so full of unexpected twists and turns. Picoult used a unique writing style to tell you the story from everyone's point of view. From scenes on the Amish dairy farm to the courtroom, Picoult delivers a one of a kind story. While you are being entertained, at the same time you get a look inside the Amish world. I strongly suggest this book to anyone that enjoys thrillers, mystery, romance, and suspense.
Rating: Summary: A Thoroughly Addictive Page-Turner! Review: This is the first book that I have read written by Ms. Picoult. Prior to reading Plain Truth, I was quite unfamiliar with the Amish way of life. From the very beginning, I was thoroughly addicted. The subject matter along with Ms Picoult's sensational style of writing are indeed a true work of art. I strongly urge anyone especially those who are unfamiliar with the Amish lifestyle to read Plain Truth at their earliest convenience.
