Summary: way below clancy's usual fare
Review: It is not a complete loss, however, way below usual Clancy's level. Turn off pages are ones describing personal relationships in FSU (apparently Clancy does not know anything about it) they simply should be skipped because they did not add anything to the action either.

Just an example of getting things wrong. One of the most ridiculous passages is related to Ryan seening a skating ring as the only place where mid 80's moskovites could have fun. Fun at the time was behind the dark windows of Moscow appartmets and it has all three necessary parts: booze, sex and excitment of playing with the danger of constantly violating numerous Stalin's period laws which were still on the books and some of them were even enforced from time to time.

Summary: Great Book-Like all of Clancy's other books

Summary: A True Spy Story
Review: This book was masterfully written. A great story and very believable. When asked to comment on which book most likely happened he said this one. A must read for espionage fans and Clancy fans. The sequel to Red October it is terrific. Read it!

Summary: Clancy's Best Novel
Review: I think The Cardinal of the Kremlin is the best novel by Tom Clancy. While his other novels are also good (except for Debt of Honor, of which I was greatly disappointed), The Cardinal of the Kremlin is the only one where Clancy has had a combination of three-dimensional characters, a nice plot, gripping action, and a climax and epilogue that ties everything up perfectly. I think this book is the keystone of Clancy's Jack Ryan series, because it is so well researched and layed out. I hope he writes another novel just as good as this one.

Summary: Clancy at his best
Review: This is one of his best works. Spying, sneaking around, espionage and counter-espionage. It would help if u have read Hunt for Red October but not necessary. Really a great piece of fiction.

Summary: I like Clancy, but...
Review: I have never been into spy stories. I cannot stand the super gizmos and theft of papers and crap. I can tolerate Ludlum, though, since his are more of kill 'em and get the papers now that he is dead. This is a fairly good book-actually, its the best spy story I've read, but I like Clancy's war stories and action-packed books better. I do like the message he has: if the system is built, how-or if-will it be used? Read it, but I like his other stuff better.

Summary: One Of The Best Clancys Ever!

Summary: Excellent Writing And Detail. Clancy Is A Genius
Review: The book The Cardinal of Kremlin is one of the most fast action book I've read since The Hunt For Red October, Patriot Games, and Clear and Present Danger. This book has parts that makes me feel compassion to the character Colonel Misha Filitov and hatrad toward Colonel Ventin who tortured Misha and another CIA agent. This book has the action I need, because I always have pictures in my mind about the things that they act and how they tried to accomplish their missions. During the parts where Project Bright Star was been attacked, I found out that Colonel has some power but he had a GREAT reponsibily towards the engineers. He was right about that the project Bright Star can be repair, but the engineers life could not be repaired. So because of his bravery and GREAT responsibly, he saved Bright Star and its engineers from the Afgan Freedom Fighters. I have recommended this books to most my 8th grade classmates and teachers. I think that Mr.Clancy is a great man with great ideas and imagination.
