Summary: Very Good Read
Review: This was my first Johansen book. There were more things I liked about it than disliked. However, you can tell it was written by a romance author. If the romance and tug-of-war between the lead character and her boyfriends was edited out you would have an even better story. At first, it wasn't such a bother, but after a few chapters it becomes more and more a part of the story and bogs things down. One finds oneself skimming over the romantic/dramatic soppy parts hoping to find more mystery.

Yet, I still enjoyed it. Stayed up all night to finish it. The characters were fun, beleivable, and a few were endearing. I enjoyed the ghost scenes with Bonnie because they were direct, to the point, and not too long. They were emotional, yet didn't seem silly like the romance parts. And, of course, my favorite character was the dog Monty. I would like to read more about Eve and her mystery solving career without the romance.

Summary: The Killing Game is a real killer!
Review: I have read all of Iris Johansen's books and have enjoyed every one of them. In THE KILLING GAME, she has surpassed all the others. The reader's attention is caught in the first few pages and gripped tightly throughout the remainder of the book. I resented any interruption while "buried" in this book. Johansen allows the reader wider access to Eve Duncan's thought processes and "roller-coaster" emotions as she continues her search for the remains of her daughter, Bonnie, with the assistance and support of her loyal friends, John Logan and Joe Quinn. Quinn's relationship with Duncan is heated up a notch, which makes the characters even more realistic. The addition to the cast of characters of street-wise, tenacious little Jane MacGuire, crusty, reclusive Sarah Parker, and lovable Monty is icing on the cake. This is a MUST READ for Johansen fans!

Summary: A Book Everyone Will Love
Review: I have just finished reading The Killing Game by Iris Johansen and loved it. I would look forward to going to bed every night just so I could read more. I had read the prequel The Face of Deception and thought it was good not knowing this book would be ten times better. I recommend this book to anyone who loves suspence, romance, anyone that is looking for love or has already found it, and anyone that has a child or has lost a child. I can't wait until the next book comes out and I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Summary: WOW!
Review: A story that has you reading non stop from front to back. Characters are well developed, and it feels as if you know them. You will fall in love with each character (love 'em or hate 'em) you just can't resist. When you think you've just found out who the killer is,twists are thrown in and your kept guessing. You feel every emotion that a human being could feel, and are disappointed when it has ended. Absolutely compelling.

Summary: Loved It!
Review: Killing Game has everything mystery, suspense, romance. After reading Face of Deception I couldn't get enough of Eve and Joe. I love their individual personalities, they're so human instead of being the picture of perfection like in most books. As for the hero...I fell in love with Joe he was a man anyone would wish for. I can't wait for The Search to come out I hope Eve finally finds Bonnie.

Summary: regular ol' mystery
Review: Don't get me wrong, the Killing Game was a good book. But it was just another ol' mystery like all the thousands of others. There wasn't anything unique about it. It's the same old "There's a happy woman--Then man comes and haunts her--Woman tries to figure out who he is--Man threatens to kill somebody else--She must save this somebody else--The man schedules to meet her--The man meets her--somebody saves the day and everybody goes home happy" basic idea. What I would like to see in a murder mystery would be the killer getting away and nobody finding out. We could still know who he is maybe because, like the Killing Game, the killer schedules to meet his "prey", but just don't have anyone save the day. If the killer would actually kill the main character it would be unique, but the Killing Game was just another regular ol' mystery where somebody saves the day.

Summary: The Killing Game
Review: Oh Please! Anyone who can put this down does'nt have a pulse! Just when you think you've got it all figured out, out comes another curve-ball. This is probably the best book I have read since The Firm, and I'm not kidding. I have haunted the local book store to see when and if Iris Johansen is putting out another "Eve Duncan" book. I am hooked!

Summary: An Excellent Read
Review: Ranked against Iris Johansen's other works The Killing Game ranks up in the top. Johansen sticks to the theme of the unknown darkness throughout the book. Her many twists, turns, and backtracks keeps the reader avidly turning the pages. She develops each character relatively well, except for a few. This underdevelopment, however, is essential to the plot and climax of the book. Overall The Killing Game is a well written mystery/suspense novel with a splash of romance added in.

Summary: A great read!
Review: Iris Johansen is a master at writing suspense! This book kept me guessing all the way through and I loved the twists. I'm glad the author chose to write another book with Eve Duncan as the main character because I was curious about what would happen to Eve after "The Face of Deception." I never would have predicted the end of this book. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Couldn't put it down!
Review: I was put on pins and needles reading this book, because it kept me guessing what was going to happen next. I enjoy reading books from this author, because she makes the books so that you are not able to put it down. This book surprised me at the end. I didn't think that the killer was going to be an FBI agent. With the book ending the way that it did, I was glad that Eve and Joe finally decided to unite. I look forward to reading future books from this author. I would suggest this book to anyone that was looking for an action pack, thrilling, mystery type of book.
