Rating: Summary: Totally Awesome! Review: Jeffrey Deaver, what a great writer! This was such an great story with many twists and turns. I could not put it down. This was the 1st book in a long time that totally drew me in from the moment I started. Great caracters and awesome story line. I can't wait to start on the next Deaver book, Coffin Dancer.
Rating: Summary: A good read, but not a great one! Review: A better than average story; however three major problems I had were: 1.) the CONSTANT, boring use of technical acronyms 2.) the unrealistic way in which the clues were solved so quickly 3.) the lame, too quickly contrived ending. If anyone asked me if the book was worth reading, I'd tell them it wasn't a total waste of time, but make sure you check the book out at the library. More riveting and with that "true life is stranger than fiction" edge,is John Douglas' "Mindhunter" - a far better read!
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: Excellent mystery, I am used to being able to figure out the plot long before it's half formed, but with Bone Colector I couldn't even stay one step ahead, let alone the usual five. It was a great story, and Oh my god...I actually learned something from it. Deaver's use of logic and suspense are excellent. This is the first of his books I have ever read but it definetly won't be the last.
Rating: Summary: I want more of Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs. Review: A great book. I haven't read any of Jeffery Deavers other books but you can be sure I will now. I couldn't stop reading the Bone Collector. This is one of those books where you really become attached to the characters and are frustrated when it ends because you want to continue to be part of their lives. There has got to be a sequel!
Rating: Summary: RIVETING SUSPENSE. A NON-STOP ROLLER COASTER Review: WOW! What a tremendous book. The best thriller I have ever read. As the story progressed from scene to scene I truely was left holding my breath. The characters were riviting, the plot steamrolls, the thrills non-stop on every page. Lincoln and Sachs, what a fabulous combo, some of the best concieved characters I have ever come across. The plot developed at breakneck speed and the villian was as clever and evil as any you have have ever come across. But no more clever than Lincoln. I have not spoken at all about the plot for I do not want to give anything away. If you read any thriller at all, pick this one up, get comfortable and enjoy. You will not be disappointed. If 10 stars were allowed, I would give them.
Rating: Summary: A good suspense story despite the flaws. Review: The Bone Collector was suspensful, the background interesting and the characters were intriguing. Especially Lincoln Rhymes. However, the writer's style of constantly using sentence fragments often made the book read awkward. This coupled with run on sentences as well made it inconsistent prose. Also, there could have been a lot less criminal science information which slowed the pace of the book. Overall, I think anyone who likes police/crime drama will enjoy this book if you can get past the poor sentence structure.
Rating: Summary: a masterpiece Review: God if I loved this book. I never enjoyed books as much as this one. I spent several hours a day reading this book, abandoning all my other activities. Deaver knows how to keep my eyes fixed on the pages. I do reccomend this book, especially for those people who get easily bored from the first pages: well it won't be the same with this book. Believe me, because I read at a random of a book a week. Guys out there make sure you don't miss it!
Rating: Summary: Can't wait for the movie Review: A strong effort. I actually liked the Coffin Dancer better, but The Bone Collector was still one of the best books I have read in the last year.
Rating: Summary: unbelievable clift hangers & unexpected air pocketing twists Review: This book was like non I've ever encountered. Fast pace, stupendous twists, unique characters, intellectually informative, and all that. And when you think you had all you can take Deavers gives you some more. Read it now before the movie. And sistahs, Denzel will be the leading character in the movie. Now picture that as you read.
Rating: Summary: Captivating Review: I read authors like John Grisham and James Patterson, and now I have fallen for Jeffery Deaver. This novel is so spellbinding, that I am unable to sleep at night because of how suspensful it is. If anyone has any suggestions of other suspense or mystery books that are definite page turners, feel free to email me.Kerry Bute
