Summary: A Weak, Unfocused Effort
Review: This series is running out of steam. I could not find myself either engaged or enraged by any of the characters, and the mystery itself strains credibility.

Grafton is attempting to carry on a soap opera (Kinsey's relationships with her cousins and Dietz) within a "politically correct" mystery and just can't bring off either. Sara Paretsky covers the same ground much better, IMHO.

Summary: Depressing and disappointing
Review: I've loved most of Sue Grafton's books, but this and her last have been downbeat and slow. Kinsey isn't as much fun as she used to be!

Summary: Way to go Kinsey!
Review: Kinsey Millhone rides again! This time she deals with her look-alike classy cousin, whom she really does not like. I never suspected the character who done it! Also interesting was the return of Dietz, her 50 year old love connection. I always enjoy Ms. Grafton's books, but this one gave me many mental imagaes due to her excellent descriptions. Kinsey is a free spirit, but we see a bit of something new in her relationship with Dietz. Is there marriage in the future? Looking forward to N, maybe N is for Newlywed!?

Summary: DISAPPOINTMENT
Review: What a disappointment - actually the last several books have been let-downs. I will admitt thought that a mediocre Grafton is still better than some mysteries out there.

Let's hope "N" has that old energy and excitement again!!

Summary: What a disappoitment!!
Review: I have read all of her books A through M. It seems the series are getting less and less interesting after H for Homicide. In M forMalice nothing happens until the last three chapters. Such a watered-down book. I hope Amazon can list mixed reviews from readers, because I had read the reviews and only one person had been just slightly disappointed about the recent quality of the books this author writes. . I agree with her totally, having read this book. If Amazon doesn't change its selection of readers' review method, it will become just another form of ad and nothing else. That is my concern. I understand as a bookseller, you want to sell as many books as possible; however, listing only excellent reviews is not a good policy because the credibility will be lost. And it will be just the ads. We don't want that. Please list a wide range of reviews.(rate 3-10) Don't worry, we will buy from you another book if that particular book reviews didn't appeal to us. I wanted to tell you that for me the readers review had been a good source to make a decision of purchasing, so I hope you wil list a variety of reviews. Thank you.

Summary: M is for Malice is terrific reading
Review: M is for Malice is Grafton's best. Kinsey Millhone comes alive again! These mysteries are the best for women detectives that you can find. Kinsey is a character that can be identified with by most career women these days! Grafton is great at creating characters that come alive and grab you. Thank you Sue and we can't wait for "N is for"!!!

Summary: Loved it too!! The whole series a "must read"!
Review: All Grafton's books are an entertaining, personal escape for me. Like her other "fans", I wait impatiently for the next book "N...". Enjoy her style of writing, her ideas, and the adorable character, "Kinsey Millhone". Even when I feel the plot predictable, it's always a "fun read". Thanks, Sue Grafton and please keep 'em comin'

Summary: Masterful, Marvelous and Must read
Review: Well, she's done it once again. I absolutely loved this book. Kinsey is back and better than ever. Finally, Sue Grafton has come up with another "can't be put down until the last word" book. If you haven't read it, get it and if you don't know Kinsey yet, start with "A is for Alibi" and get ready for a lot of sleepless nights. Guy Malek was absolutely adorable and the rest of the family was incredibly atrocious. If you're up for a very down to earth novel in which characters are believable, motives are very real and behaviour is normal, RUN TO THE STORE and get ready for an incredible adveture.

Summary: Different enough to be interesting again
Review: At last, Kinsey breaks down & gets a decent haircut. The characters from past novels appear only as needed, so we don't get the requisite visit with the landlord to eat great food, kinsey doesn't lick her hand to style her hair every chapter, and she isn't able to figure out every character based on the first meeting. A refreshing look at a nasty, twisted story. Makes you wonder how quickly Whitewater investigation would have been resolved if Kinsey had been on the case (hey, do I have an idea or what?). Kinsey's investigation and documentation process is also worthwhile reading here - I sense organization tips for all project managers. I hope you can tell how much I enjoy this character, and I'm glad to see she's capable of something different. Bless her heart, I'd like to see her get laid more often, but meanwhile, she's a terrific sleuth

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Better than the last
Review: I have been very disappointed with Sue's last 4 books, but this one has caught a second wind. Slow at first, but Kinsey is back to her old form. I would reccommend this to a friend.
