Rating: Summary: Great book Review: Unlike many of the reviewers on this site, I won't bore you with a summary of the events of the book; that's what the back of the book is for. Suffice it to say that this is a well-written, very visual, novel. Enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: They Just Keep Getting Better Review: Well, unfortunately, I got this book from the library on a day that my husband worked the night shift...and I didn't sleep a wink all night long...every time a hair touched my face or the house settled, I jumped, imagining spiders walking along my neck or Preacher Faulkner creeping silently into my abode.... This is the best book yet of Connolly's three novels I've read. You'll enjoy them more and better understand the story line if you read them consecutively, though. I don't believe in doing reviews as "book reports" so I won't rehash the plot for you, but suffice it to say that this is the most riveting, scary, intriguing, well-written thriller that I've read in years. If you like being scared [...], then READ THIS BOOK! It's totally awesome!!!
Rating: Summary: The Killing Kind Review: WOW! What can I say. This has got to be the best yet. I have read John Connolly's previous two books which were excellent and some of the best thrillers I have ever read, but once I started reading The Killing Kind I just couldn't put it down. I read it in three sittings (much to the dismay of my husband!) Hooray for Angel and Louis. What fantastic characters. I'm not an arachnaphobic, but some of the chapters made my skin crawl. Pudd was a great villain and something different which makes a refreshing change. Having read the first chapter of his new book The White Road which was previewed at the end of The Killing Kind, I just can't wait to buy it. Keep it up John!
