Summary: Not bad at all!
Review: Ok, this is not the best Sherlock Holmes book I have read but it was actually quite enjoyable! Actually it should be titled "Dr Watson and the Titanic Tragedy." Holmes is in it but Watson is certainly in the forefront.
Despite this I highly recommend this book!

Summary: Excellent Holmes adventure blending mystery with history.
Review: The game is afoot ... or, should I say, afloat, in this excellent Holmes adventure. Holmes and Watson find themselves aboard the ill-fated Titanic on its maiden ... and final voyage, due to an unfortunate encounter with an iceberg. Mycroft Holmes has persuaded his brother to give up his bee keeping for a final adventure, protecting state secrets from foreign agents. Along the way, we meet Captain Smith, Irene Adler's daughter, the owner of the White Star line (Bruce Ismay), and some of the ship's famous and infamous passengers. The author has woven together a number of sub-plots, that keep me guessing to the very end (although, I knew an iceberg was lurking out there!) My advice, Watson, is to order this book and enjoy an eventful voyage on the Titanic with Sherlock Holmes. By the way, if you see Captain Smith, you may want to warn him Holmes and Watson's troubles may be only the "tip of the iceberg." George Granger

Summary: Extremely Disappointing
Review: This appears to be a book that wanted to capitalize on two things--the popularity of both the Titanic and Sherlock Holmes. Unfortunately, it does neither of them justice. Seil does not have a handle on Holmes'character, and the Great Detective comes across as a shadow of his former self. Entrusting a fledgling agent (and Irene Adler's daughter, no less--OY!) with such an important mission is unrealistic. And, if all else fails and the plot runs dry (which it frequently does), throw in some trivia about the Titanic to fill in space. Neither Sherlockians or Titanic afficianados will like this book. At least this one does not.
