Rating: Summary: Hated it Review: This book was entirely to short -- With NO real story line.
Rating: Summary: Drug Dealers story Review: This book was so deep that people who read because a book is thick doesn't get the depth. The words that he used to describe hustling were simply remarkable and you would have to honestly have a love for words in order to understand the jargon that this man brings to the table. I fell instantly in love when I saw that he was able to transform the hustler's creed into a work of art. I love words and all of his were perfect, he was gritty by the English language. Although the book was short it depicted a friendship that was formed to give the men work. It was a rise to the top, filled with gang rivals, knowledge, sex, greed, and of course the take down of an empire. This book was a realization and it was filled with knowledge it didn't focus on the actual living it was to the point it showed you how it came how it flourished and how it ended.
Rating: Summary: SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PORTRAYAL Review: This book was so deep that people who read because a book is thick doesn't get the depth. The words that he used to describe hustling were simply remarkable and you would have to honestly have a love for words in order to understand the jargon that this man brings to the table. Rating: Summary: Short and good Review: THIS BOOK WAS VERY SHORT. THE BOOK IS ABOUT A COUPLE OF GUYS BUILDING A DRUG EMPIRE TO SEE IT COME FALLING DOWN. I LIKE ALL THE DRAMA THAT TOOK PLACE, LIKE THE BACK STABBING IN THE END. THIS BOOK COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER WITH MORE DETAILS, BUT THE AUTHOR WENT THE RIGHT WAY, AND GOT RIGHT TO THE POINT.
Rating: Summary: Not a Fairy Tale Review: This is not another ghetto fairy tale. It's not a romance disguised as a hardcore street novel. This is the real deal. Another reviewer called it goodfellas in the Philly ghetto and that about desribes it. This is harder than True to the Game and ten times better than B-More Careful.
Rating: Summary: Movie worthy Review: This story should definitely be made into a film. The author, whom I met by chance on the streets of Philly, has drive, charm, and, determination. His story is real and action packed. It incorporates all races and portrays the harsh realities of dealing drugs. Readers of all kinds will enjoy this short story and want Antonne to write another. I believe that "The Family" will be excellent when put into a movie format and wish the author success, health, and happiness in his future.
Rating: Summary: Lots of Name Dropping - Coincidental? Review: Very good book; short, no fluff, but good. LOTS of names were dropped and I don't mean the obvious Nas and NORE. Several scenarios seemed a little too reminiscent of actual past events, people and places. What's up with that? Brought me back a decade or so, though. The story line is definitely real and credible for the time frame in which the story took place. Mr. Jones did a good job telling this hard core story with a sprinkling of romance. His writing flowed with style and eloquence. Credit should also have been given to the delicious cuties on the cover...
