Summary: Its fun to read, has a nice ending, and makes me feel good
Review: I had seen part of the movie LEGALLY BLONDE, but not enough to compare it to the book. So I am going with the book, and plan to see the movie again some time. Part of what attracted me to the book was the Chihuahuah on the cover -- I am the Original Dog Lover.

I did not read this book "critically." I read it for fun, entertainment and escape and enjoyed it on all three counts. Elle, the main character, for all of her stylish blondeness, is actually easy to identify with. Even with drop-dead good looks, money and sense of style, she has to deal with the breakup with her boyfriend (no amount of money can make that stop hurting) and challenges in law school, complicated by the fact that since she is attractive, blonde and a former Homecoming Queen, she has people questioning her seriousness and intelligence.

The plot is good and kept me turning pages, even though I had seen the end of the movie and knew how it would turn out. The "heavy" in the book -- Elle's former boyfriend, Warner -- gets his comeuppance and in all, it's a satisfying book to read.

It also pointed out something a lot of people don't realize: just because a girl is interested in styles, clothing and shopping, it doesn't mean that she's an airhead.

I suppose Amanda Brown has a style of writing that could be classed as "better than some and weaker than others." For my part,I think she painted up a real and genuine personality with Elle. There may have been some weaknesses in the book, but to be honest, I wasn't looking for them. I am neither a law student nor a lawyer, but I do have a busy and scattered-out schedule and sometimes I want to read something that is funny and relaxing.

Read the book! You'll enjoy it!

Summary: The book and the movie are so alike
Review: I have seen the movie three times and read the book twice and they are so much alike in spirit., Many of the scenes, like the students sitting on the lawn and introducing themselves, are taken straight from the book and much of the dialogue is exactly the same. I loved them both,

Summary: Go see the movie
Review: I liked the movie a lot better han this book. It was the same basic potline, but not as fun and exciting. I might be wrong because I saw the movie first, so maybe thats why I disliked this, but it wasn't exciting enough to satisfy me. However, it still was a good movie and the true fans will apprieciate it.

Summary: Ack...
Review: I LOVED the movie and was expecting a good read from the book. I was way disappointed. The style of writing is not very good, and Elle is pretty dumb throughout the book, never getting any better (unlike the movie). I continually cringed as I read parts. All the good parts in the movie were added by the screenwriters (they must have seen an OK plot form this book that could be WAY improved buy their changes). If you want to read this book just because you saw the movie, don't bother. All the good characters from the movie were added. Overall, the book was extremely dumb and I still can't imagine how it was published in this form without undergoing major editing for both style and content!

Summary: Still can't get over how bad it was
Review: I really liked the movie so I bought the book, figuring I'd like it just as much, if not more. WOW, I could not have been more wrong. The writing in the book was absolutely horrible. After an OK beginning, I thought it could only get better, but it only got worse. Elle stays stupid throughout the book, not passing law school because she buckles down (as in the movie) but because someone else is feeding her the answers. Most of what made the movie good wasn't even in the book - I'm guessing the producers saw what could be a good idea - a girl follows her boyfriend to law school - and really improved on it. I seriously do not understand why there are any good reviews here - my guess is that they know the author. There's no other excuse for it. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy this book! The writing is flat and dull and a lifeless plot keeps it flat on the ground.

Summary: Legally Blonde
Review: I saw the movie Legally Blonde and LOVED it i had to read the book. It is about a sorority girl Elle Woods who is determined to get the love of her life back. The only way she can do that is to go to law school BUT her mind changes about him in the end. Read the book and watch the movie to find out more! ...

Summary: The movie was better...
Review: I saw the movie, Legally Blonde before I read the book and I think that the movie was better and a lot funnier. The book is kind of boring, and I dont know if its because I already know the story or not. Dont buy it, check it out from your local library.

Summary: Clueless Meets and Beats the Paper Chase - Only Better!!
Review: Legally Blonde is "Clueless" meets and beats the "Paper Chase" - only better. Elle Woods is a modern American hero with a cutting wit and a great sense of humor. Loved this book.

Summary: Legally Blonde is a Must Read!!!!
Review: Legally Blonde is a terrific read!! Elle Woods is a winning character who triumphs over anti-blonde prejudice while never losing her sense of humor. Lots of funny vignettes about the absurdities of law school and self-important law students, all tied together in a great storyline, culminating in a great courtroom climax. This book will make anyone who is tired of lawyers stand up and cheer!! More importantly, this book has a strong positive message while keeping it all tongue-in-cheek. Go Elle!!

Summary: Legally Blonde Book Review
Review: Legally Blonde is an amazing book. The movie is excellent too but the book is better. The story is great and is actually based on the author's experience at law school (being one of the only blondes) and I recommend it for everyone.
