Summary: Very engaging read...
Review: "Takedown" is the second novel pitting Detective Gavin Pierce against a familiar evil force. In the first novel, "Driven", readers are introduced to Gavin, his wife, Amy, and a trusted friend, Reverend Buck. The trio are reunited with another character from the first novel, the ancient demon Krogan. While reading the first novel may help with the history between the characters, readers can easily follow along with this continuing storyline.

Krogan has escaped the prison set for him by Gavin and Reverend Buck. Bent on revenge, the demon takes over the body of a professional wrestler and begins to wreak havoc in the world of wrestling. His one-track mind is determined to destroy the humans who imprisoned him. Reverend Buck falls ill leaving Gavin on his own to face Krogan. In order to protect his wife and unborn child, this is not an assignment he can refuse. Standing alone provides the opportunity for Gavin to grow and learn more about the spiritual world.

This was an engaging and thrilling read. Even if you are not a fan of wrestling, that part is minor compared to the "real" fight of good versus evil in the spiritual world.

Summary: Even better than the first!
Review: After Driven I did not think that another book could be that good but I was wrong. Takedown was that and more. To think that a book about faith in God could be this captivating is refreshing. The demons are among us and it is up to one cop who has little lasting faith, to save us all. This book touches all of the emotion, passion and excitment of the first book and adds a dash more! I look forward to another book from Griffiths, and another, and another.

Summary: Intense
Review: After the cliffhanger in the first book, I was expecting to have to buckle my seatbelt for another wild ride, and I wasn't disappointed. Krogan continues to give me nightmares and the terrorist, truly scary, may have actually hit a little too close to home. Hopefully the book won't give the wrong person more information than they should have.

The story flowed well and Griffiths is a master at setting the mood. The angels in the arena was a nice touch. I felt myself reaching out for Gavin and want to know what happens to him from here. Where will Krogan wind up next?

Summary: Great Storytelling
Review: Driven was an impossible act to follow and W. G. Griffiths has done the impossible. I loved the diologue, especially between Gavin and Grella. Amy was in a new role after marraige and pregnancy evolved her character but the suspence and conflict never let up. Fast paced, as usual with Griffiths' books, and plenty of twists to the plot. Very imaginative. Highly recommendable. As with DRIVEN, looking forward to the next one.

Summary: Excellent Sequel
Review: Driven was great and so is Takedown. Captivating plot and diologue. I especially enjoyed the character evolution from one book to the next. Unable to put it down and read through it in two days. Looking forward to the next book.

Summary: He's back!
Review: Gavin Pierce is back and so is Krogan! Goodbye tortoise, hello Jackhammer!! This was a really good book, but there were a couple of places that talked me out of giving it 5 stars. I'd have to say that the turning point for Gavin was when he realized that where 2 or more are gathered in Jesus' name, there He is in their midst. The action in this is great, and all in all it's a very good book. I do hope to read more of W.G. Griffiths in the future! It's been an awesome ride so far! I'd say bottom line, God is bigger than the devil, and He is most certainly bigger than Krogan!

Summary: Is the world safe yet???
Review: Hold on for a moment while I catch my breath. After Driven, the very thought of the tortoise dying and the monster demon, Krogan, getting free where he would set out for revenge was enough to give me nightmares for the last year. My favorite line in the book was the last one, "Gavin smiled." Maybe I can get a little rest now. Please. I'm looking forward to the next Griffiths book, but I don't know if my human heart can take another like the last two.

Summary: Bad, bad, bad!!!
Review: I kept thinking this novel was going to get better. It never did. Parts of the story were disjointed and didn't match up with previous parts. Don't think I will pick up another W.G.Griffiths book again.
