Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: Bruce does a great job of combining science, action, spirituality and life. I highly recommend the book - engaging, interesting, tearjerker and heartwarming.
Rating: Summary: Scary, True to Life, and God Help us if.... Review: Burnett weaves present day geopolitics, religious involvement in our government, and modern genetic science into a story of intrigue and suspense about one of the greatest prophecies of the ages, the Second Coming of Christ. Is Josh Adon the Second or not? This is something the author leaves to reader to figure out. The way Mr. Burnett weaves his story into the occurences we see in national and international politics makes one wonder and fear the future. The story, however, is intimate about one scientist swept up into to circumstances beyond his control, the match to the DNA of Jesus. Burnett is a master story teller with dialogue that rings true with every page turning, suspense filled moment. The Lamb is a tight story that makes one think about faith, politics, personal choices, and finally what our government will be become in the next 10 or 15 years. I highly recommend this thrill ride with an ending that will leave you wanting a second book.
Rating: Summary: The Lamb Review: Dr. Burnett has really outdone himself with The Lamb. He has crafted a wonderfully suspenseful and curious storyline with a few zingers. He knows how to develop characters which hold your attention and lead you into their world. THIS IS A MUST READ ! ! JD Weir
Rating: Summary: Mom Approved! Review: I am a memeber of a non-traditional book group...my family. Membership consisting of my four teenage sons, their friends, girlfriends and my Husband. If we read and enjoy a book, then everyone in our extended family has to read it too. And no, it does not take a lot of arguing about book selection either. Trust me, anything a kid wants to read is exciting to a parent. We had just finished reading the C.S. Lewis books and were still on a high from that when The Lamb fell into our laps. Perfect. It is a first class story that tells us that we could all be part of one extended family! How, you might ask? Read it! The Lamb is about faith and love and all the kinds of things that matter to everyone. No boring stuff either. My kids loved the action and the science. We enjoyed disussing the hidden meanings and symbolisms Dr. Burnett poetically weaved into The Lamb. As a parent I approve The Lamb for all ages.

Rating: Summary: A Page Turning Emotional Roller Coaster Review: I don't usually read books with a religious theme and then The Lamb was recommended to me. I was surprised to find that the book is more spiritual and action packed than religious. Dr. Burnett has crafted a outstanding story of suspense and intrigue about a world that could happen in our times. His use of allusion to current events in science, politics, religion and world events scared the day lights out of me. But at the same time, his character development made me fall in love with the story. By the end of the book, I was crying like I haven't in a long time. This page-turning novel set me on an emotional roller coaster that I'll always remember. If you want to really get into a book, read this one.
Rating: Summary: My "Summer Beach Read 2004" pick-- fast-paced suspense Review: I got totally absorbed in this novel from Page One. Is Josh able to bring people back from the dead, and why is he always being picked on? The mystery unfolds with great care, and we are kept in suspense the entire time, wondering how a vial of ancient blood could match Josh's DNA, and whether or not he's more than just a boy with an unusual gift. The story has been compared to "The DaVinci Code" but I think it's rather different, and it certainly is my pick for the 2004 "Summer Beach Read Award." If you want a fast-paced mystery, this certainly is a great choice. I couldn't put it down. This is Dr. Burnett's first novel (another is on the way) and I am looking forward to reading more from this novelist.
Rating: Summary: A Fictional Account of Our Times Review: I read this book, The Lamb, recommended to me by readers who had read The Da'Vinci Code. They said it compared well but was more true to life. The author wraps a story of our past, present, and future in politics and religion around a wonderful character, Josh, who matches the blood of Christ. Or, does he? You see, Burnett never really tells you there's a match. He let's you decide for yourself based on your religion and faith. This is more than a book that has religion in it. It is a novel that challenges what you think and believe. My friend's who have read this saw very different things than I did based on their beliefs. The author has crafted a story that makes you think. He has given me new incites of myself. And, the backdrop for the story is our times or close to it: war in the Middle East, religion becoming part of our politics, and freedoms ebbing away. All in a personal package about one (un)fortunate man who just desparately wants to find his wife who has been kidnapped. Josh may or may not be the Savior. But I savored every moment with this book. Give it two thumbs way up.
Rating: Summary: Exceptional Use of Dialog Moves Great Story Review: I started reading "The Lamb" because a friend recommended it and finished the book because I couldn't put it down. Bruce Burnett's use of dialog is expert, and the story itself kept me on edge, pushing me from one chapter to the next. Yes, it's a compelling read. Consider this: I started reading it late one night and would have continued through to the end if it wasn't for the fact that I needed a little sleep before work.
