Rating: Summary: Murder can be fun! Review: ...especially in Alan Jacobson's world! A fan of his first novel, False Accusations, I enjoyed this one even more! It seemed like there was a surprise plot twist every page or two. Literally couldn't put it down. Clear your schedule, 'cause you'll want to devour it in one sitting!
Rating: Summary: Thriller from page 1! Review: Dr. Lauren Chambers is a haunted woman. Her father was shot in front of her when she was only a child. Even though she is a trained therapist, she cannot help herself defeat the demons she has fought for the past several years. Her husband Michael has been her rock -- her salvation -- her sanity. But, now Michael's missing and a series of terrifying events cast Lauren in the leading role of hunter and hunted as she tries to unravel the mystery of Michael's former life. This page-turner will keep you awake until all the questions are answered. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Pleasurable Read Review: I actually know the author, and I would like to say that I still remember how much I enjoyed reading the book many years ago, and I congratulate him for such an exciting piece of literature. It is true that it started off a little slow, but there was a lot of plot to develop. After the first hundred or so pages, the story really picks up. I could not put down the book as soon as I got into the heart of the novel. The Hunted is a very enjoyable novel.
Rating: Summary: Magical Mystery Review: I just finished The Hunted and absolutely loved every minute of it. I could barely put it down. After teaching fifth graders all day, I would rush home and read before dinner and then again before bed. I am an avid reader and feel this is one of the most exciting books to come around in a long time. 25 years ago I fell in love with Ludlum books, and today I have a new author to excite me with his magical book. I can't wait to pass it on to the rest of my family.
Rating: Summary: A little too long Review: I liked this book well enough but I have to agree with a former reviewer that this story was slow-paced. If some parts could have been edited out (instead of dragging everything out for so long), it would have been better. Other than that, it's not bad.
Rating: Summary: Art imitates life in "The Hunted" Review: Jacobson truly matures as a master storyteller in this spectacular follow-up to his bestselling first novel, False Accusations. After reading the first four or five pages, I knew I was in for a long night of fast-paced page churning. The characters are so real that they could be your friends, co-workers or next-door neighbors...which makes what happens to them in "The Hunted" even more frightening and sobering. The plot is timely, believable, well-considered and chock full of those signature Jacobson clever plot twists. Alan Jacobson truly outdoes himself with The Hunted. This is a must-read book!
Rating: Summary: sUSPENSE IN SLOW MOTION Review: The book is filled with twists and turns as Dr. Lauren Chambers, a professional therapist, goes in search of her husband, Michael, who fails to return home from a skiing trip. That is just the first step into a world of mystery, suspense and the unknown. "Hunted" is filled with excitement and the unexpected but at a slower pace than anticipated. There were parts that seemed to drag on like a soap opera in an attempt to prolong the story. Overall, it was still a book worth reading, although it lacked the punch and pace of Jacobson's "False Accusations."
Rating: Summary: This book rocks! Review: The Hunted is an entertaining read while keeping the mind well-occupied and the reader awake. Looking foward to the next Jaconson masterpiece!
Rating: Summary: Too Complicated!! Review: This book was too long and drawn out. Just wasn't interesting. I was totally surprised considering Mr Jacobson's previous novel was awesome. Hopefully his next novel is better.
Rating: Summary: A wild ride... Review: This is the first book by Alan Jacobson I have read - it was a good book and I am looking forward to reading his first book. THE HUNTED begins with Lauren Chambers upset about her husband's late return from a weekend with his frat buddies. She goes to the police after 48 hours only to find that they have other more high profile cases to focus in on. She is pursuaded to go to a Neighborhood Watch meeting to rally the community to help her. During the meeting she meets a private detective who volunteers to help her. Meanwhile, her husband turns up on the East coast - shot in the leg and he has amnesia. He cannot remember a thing about his past...and the FBI is looking for him. This provides the foundation for a suspenseful book that reads like a roller coaster - never knowing what is next. It twists and turns just when you think you know what is going on. The only reason I gave it four out of five stars is that there are a couple of story items that didn't seem possible. A great book nonetheless - I would recommend it to others.
