Summary: No Pulse
Review: Echo Heron was a nurse. Echo Heron appears to read a lot of Dave Barry. Echo Heron moved to Monserrat (sp?) and has a relative named Adele. So she thought, "Can I write a mass market thriller with these things I have?" And she did. Her heroine's name is Adele Monsarrat. The setting is a hospital, among a nursing staff. Swinging wildly between required scenes of carnage and suspense (which are anything but) and pop-culture filled extravaganzas of hyperbole found only in Mr. Barry's writing, this novel floats in a netherworld of authorial cheekiness where Heron wants us to see how cutely she can write and yet take her novel seriously as a mystery. Heron refers to Stephen King innumerable times, and while I've recently become disenchanted by Mr. King's writing, I would highly recommend you take up a multi-volume compendium of his work before laying hands on this lifeless husk.

Summary: Worth reading
Review: I bought Pulse not expecting much from it. Boy, was I wrong! From the first page to the last had me going! I fell in love with Adele and her wonderful friends on Ward8. Echo Heron's books are now part of my must read list!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great read...couldn't put in down, gets your Pulse pumping
Review: I really loved this book. It is the first of Echo Heron's books I have ever read, but I'm glad I stumbled across it. I will definitely be going for the next one. She creates the characters and makes you feel you know them. She did a very good job of leading you to many assumptions as to whodunit. Then just as you thought you had it figured out, she presented another lead that totally threw you for a loop. You never really suspect the one who turns out guilty. I have no reason to thrash this book at all. And the plot and story line aren't that far fetched, with the world today. There are many anti-abortion activists who believe it is right to kill one human for killing another. I do not agree with abortion, but I guess to each his own. You really need to read this book.

Summary: WOW!!! A great , fast paced medical thriller
Review: I was disappointed when this book ended...Echo Heron's unique blend of medical thriller and comedy is absolutely brilliant! I couldn't put it down!!! Adele Monsarrat as the RN and amature sleuth is a wonderful, memorable character . All Heron's characters are so well written, that you'll come away feeling like you know them, or that you wish you did! This one had me stumped until the end. When I wasn't laughing, I found myself making sure the doors were locked and all the lights were on. Can't wait for the next book in this series. GREAT BOOK! Keep ''em coming, Ms. Heron!

Summary: WOW!!! A great , fast paced medical thriller
Review: This is a very good medical thriller -- the plot's complexity and the twists and turns remind me of Dashiell Hammett's _Maltese Falcon_.
It's hard to know the motivation behind the other reader review from the anonymous "reader from New York." That reader doesn't like thrillers, and apparently considers anyone with a nurse's license to be fit only to empty bedpans, and so decided to anonymously trash this thriller by Echo Heron, RN.
If you like murder thrillers, in a hospital setting, you'll like this book.

Summary: Great read...couldn't put in down, gets your Pulse pumping
Review: This is the second Echo Heron book I've read and Adele Monsarrat is fast becoming one of my favorite characters. Along with her vegetarian dog, Nelson, she provides wit and humor in her crime solving antics. A twisting plot had me guessing right up to the end. Just when I was sure I had it all figured out, another possibility presented itself. An excellent read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fast-paced, entertaining, insightful.
Review: This story is very entertaining if you have read any of Echo Heron's nonfiction work. If you enjoy medical thrillers then this book won't let you down. Echo Heron is an amazing person with a lot of experience. Her humor saturates this book and makes you love Adele.
