Review: Alexander Fullerton is one of the best writers of 20th century naval fiction today. It is really a shame that his works are not more widely published, because his writing is on a par with Patrick O'Brian. What is more: Fullerton was in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, having served on both surface ships and submarines. He knows well what he writes. This particular work gives the reader a flavor of the dynamics of the naval war in the Mediterranean and a view of life in wartime Egypt during 1941. There's also romance and intrigue. So, if you're looking for a novel that has a richly textured plot, and is also fast-paced, look no further. "LOVE FOR AN ENEMY" is it!
