Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK WAILS Review: An engrossing tale of self-realization. Brilliantly written. Weiner's style jives with John Fante,Walter Mosley and a dollop of Woody Allen. I dig this book.
Rating: Summary: Good Characters, Good Story, a Touch of Good Humor Review: Fiction, Fiction - Psychological Suspense, Legal, Suspense, Thrillers ==A very nice little mystery from someone of whom I've never heard. Jody Weiner, a practicing attorney for thirty years, this book is a legal oriented mystery. The hero is a journalist investigating a prominent attorney who has been accused of conspiring with a judge to get the fix in on a criminal case. As you might expect, things have to get more complicated than that such as falling for the attorney's fiancee, his family gets involved, a good bit of humor, ocassionally it makes you laugh enough to make the people around you stare. ==I'm not sure if this is Mr. Weiner's first book or not, but at any rate, it deserves to be a success and to be the start of a series. The characters, both the attorney and the journalist are well defined and interesting -- and what's better to cement a relationship than a bit of jail time.
