Rating: Summary: Edgar Allen Poe and Flannery O'Connor Have Son Review: Bruce Strauch writes superbly about characters prevalent in the South. Every word is carefully chosen, every detail right, and every character believable. Every page makes you want to linger, but eager to turn. Strauch is a Citadel professor with a doctorate in law and a master's degree from Oxford University, and as a former political cartoonist, his sense of humor is well developed. His updated cast of characters includes a savings & loan executive who tries to frame his secretary, the housemother of a sorority who gets rid of unsuitable young men, and a male exotic dancer who turns into boyfriend trouble.
Rating: Summary: Very funny! Review: This is a great book to read! It is a collection of surprising, scary and funny short stories that will keep you chuckling during the day. It is the sardonic Canturbury Tales south of the Mason Dixie Line. Makes a great gift for your Northern friends, especially those who have a stereotype of the South.
