Summary: Stunner!
Review: Best novel of sports fiction I've ever seen. Not only do you go inside college basketball, but you also see the torcher a young man lives as he tries to navigate through the problems of life. This was an excellent read. The mob tries to fix the Final Four, and Mike Kramer, the lead character, is there to stop them!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Better than Season on The Brink
Review: ESPN is coming out with a movie called Season On The Brink about Bob Knight. The Fix will make an even better movie because it's so positive, compared to the story about Knight, who is so negative. This is a great read, and a positive message to basketball players, and all athletes in general. Mike Kramer doesn't succumb to the pressures of life, and in the end wins because of it. This may be the best book this reader has read in over five years. I couldn't put it away. I heard him on the radio in the Twin Cities during the Final Four. He knows what he's talking about. Buy this book. You'll be glad you did.

Summary: I didn't want it to end!
Review: Exeptional read and important message to everyone, not just college basketball players. This was terrific. Perhaps as good as any book I've ever read. Mike Kramer is a person I wish my daughter would meet. This is a must, must read.

Summary: Who said the mob was dead?
Review: Hey, the NCAA better read this and figure out what they're going to do when the bosses in NY get a hold of this book. I loved reading this story. It was full of laughs, deep reflection, truths and the quest to fulfill manhood. Mike Kramer, the lead character, comes out of nowheresville and holds the keys to his future when he's offered a bribe to throw an important NCAA tournament game. He's besieged by the problems back home during the course of the story, and now he has a chance to help out his family with big money from a low-life mob man. From page one it moves fast and furious, especially the basketball scenes. A stunning and unexpected read that is something everyone will love from the moment they read the first page of a kid being blown away in his dorm room by an angry mob figure. Great read, great writing here.

Summary: Read The Fix! It's Wonderful!
Review: I heard the author on WHAS Radio one evening in the spring, then bought his book at Hawley-Cooke. I was very pleased that he's from Louisville because this is an excellent story and it's written better than many others I've picked up. I had an interest because I played high school basketball, but my sister read it and she liked it because it has a stirring romance to it. I watched Schneider play basketball, and his main character is a lot like the way he played. Good, good read, I'd recommend it to everyone.

Summary: Some NCAA Folks Have To Be Squirming
Review: I'm sure the NCAA hates this book. But no one else will. Great, great, great read. As good as anything else I've read. It'll make it to Hollywood.

Summary: INCREDIBLE STORY
Review: Never picked up a book any better than The Fix. From the startling opening scene to Mike Kramer's last shot, I was totally engrossed. A book you will love and not want to put down! When everyone says he can't, the main character, Mike, finds a way to pull himself through his ordeal, and it made me stand up and cheer. I think the writer did a great job here. A book for everyone. Some language, but overall this is an A plus.

Summary: Couldn't put down!
Review: This has to be the most unexpected read ever for me. He came to a writer's conference in Louisville, and I won a book. Never thought much about it, but when I read the first chapter I was hooked and couldn't stop reading. You'll read this in one day like I did. So much suspense and twists you never expect. His characters are deep and sensitive, and you'll cry more than once when the author has the main character reflecting on his life back home. This is a great read for anyone, and it's not a guy book. Much entertainment it brought me.

Summary: Dazzling first novel
Review: This story is fantastic. Would recommend to just about anyone who wants a great story and entertaining and stimulating read. Best one I've read for a long time. I'm betting this will make it into the movies. For everyone.

Summary: I cried over this story!
Review: When I started reading the blurbs on the back of the book I thought for sure this was some testosterone-filled book. But, ladies, this book isn't a "guy book." And I cried over some parts in the book when the main character, Mike, is down and out. A fabulous read for any gender, and I hope they make it into a movie.
