Summary: get your running shoes on ...
Review: ... you'll want to head for the trails after you read this book. The ultrarunning in here is spot-on and very inspiring. The prose throughout, unfortunately, is a bit leaden and over-written, it just doesn't flow along as well as his characters do over the trails. But if you can get around that, the realism and interest of the story more than make up for any shortcomings of grammer and word choice.

Summary: A home Run Who Done It
Review: In the murder mystery realm, Stewart Woods is probably my favorite author. I have read every one of his books, and enjoyed them all although the characters are rather unbelievable, too highly sexed, and wrapped in fantasy situations.

"On the Dead Run" blows Stewart Woods out of the water. The book has well-developed characters that are believable and seem quite human and likable. (They do run some impressive distances however!) Although the action is located in Washington DC, it does seem plausible to me. I am amazed that each chapter ends in its own mini cliffhanger. The book is very difficult to put down. I am delighted with the book and would recommend it to friends looking for a good read. I hope Steve has started writing another one.

Summary: Fantastic! Good Reading!
Review: Mr. Simon. You had a great book with an excellent story line. The book most definitely kept me interested... I didn't want to put it down. Your characters were very realistic... Your descriptions of the people and places were very good, especially as the book progressed. You dealt with some tough issues. Enjoyable reading! Keep writing!
