Summary: Note from the Author
Review:

As with the other two volumes in the Dragon's Fury Series, Breath of Fire (Vol. I) and Trodden Under (Vol. II), I am very pleased to have Volume III, High Tide, published and now available. I believe all readers, both those new to the series and those who have already read the other volumes, will find this novel to be just as compelling, engrossing and enjoyable.

"High Tide" continues the saga of depicting how recent events leads the United States and the entire world into a Third World War and picks up the thrilling story started by the first two novels. It documents the rapid and horrific growth of the confederation of the Coalition of Asian States and the Greater Islamic Republic as they make war on the United States of America and the rest of the free world, and tracks that growth to its zenith.

It is a story of faith and the ultimate triumph of good over evil in the face of horrific obstacles and setbacks. From leaders in high offices of power, to soldiers and sailors from the involved nations, to housewives and their children, down to kids on the street, it is also the story of people - common and not so common - caught up in the titanic struggle.

The series explores key issues regarding current political and military practice. It also examines key social issues as they are played out in the dramatic war-time setting, a setting that ultimately produces the will and fortitude of another "greatest generation" in America

Summary: Dragon's Fury. . . just keeps getting better!
Review: Head has long since introduced his characters and situation, and now puts us at the "darkest hour" and the turning point of his all-too-believable World War Three scenario. A Note: this book will NOT appeal to those of a decidedly liberal persuasion, but considering the overwhelmingly conservative readership of technothrillers, it doesn't handicap the book at all. Head has some strong beliefs about America, Politics, and many other issues, and is unafraid to take a stand.

As an additional side note, one of the more fun aspects of this series of books is matching the characters in the books to their real-life counterparts. The President of the US is rather obvious, yet still a surprise.

Is Jeff Head the next Tom Clancy ? I can't say. . .yet, but also can't wait for Volume IV. . . .

Summary: Dragon?s Fury, High Tide, Volume III
Review: In Volume III of the Dragon's Fury series, Mr. Head continues his saga of World War III covering air, naval, and land engagements on all seven continents and oceans. Most frighteningly, his story illustrates the realistic and probable levels of conventional warfare in a world war within the next few years, requiring only slight advances in technology and the continuation of current political and economic trends.

High Tide is much more than a story of military adventure. It is a story of our nation's commitment to survival and freedom. It is a continuous lesson in geography, technology, economics, politics, patriotism, sacrifice, and above all, faith. It is a wake-up call to America's people and politicians. And although future alliances will take different shapes on the world stage, I believe some form of this scenario is inevitable.

Mr. Head pursues an optimistic path in his determination that the people of America can pull together in their efforts to fight back after a devastating series of military defeats and terrorist attacks. Whether his optimism is justified, we will know in a few years.

Summary: Jeff Head Has Another Winner!
Review: Jeff Head's third book in the "Dragon's Fury" series lives up to the drama and political intrigue of his first two novels. This is a book that you can't put down. The intense action may make you angry, it may make you sweat, it may make you anxious, and it may make you want to write your Congressman and tell them they have to read this book. I felt all of these emotions as I read this book. Jeff tells his story with so many sub-plots, yet they each come together to tie this masterpiece into a work of art. It is a story of personal courage, strength, and commitment to the ideals that make this country great. You must read this book and send copies to as many people as possible. It is not just a great book, it is a wake-up call for America. I'm already eagerly waiting for Volume IV!

Summary: Volume III well worth the wait
Review: Just finished Vol.III. Awesome. It's obvious that Jeff Head hasn't become bored with his project because Vol. III picks up where Vol. II ended without missing a beat. You could remove the covers and it becomes one big book. Especially great is his appreciation for high tech weaponry and how it could be employed. I'd hate to be a career type attending a war college seminar and have to war game him. If he has a fault it is that now I have to wait, once again, for Vol. IV and Vol. V.

Summary: World War III against the West turns around
Review: This novel, the third in Jeff Head's series, was the most compelling regarding the overall weaving of moral principle into the horror of war and the absolute determination of the west to prevail and overcome the awful disadvantages and surprizes that the Greater Islamic Republic and the Coalition of Asian States throw at freedom loving peoiple.

While Alaska is being invaded and the north slope oil fields taken from the United States, while Russia is being invaded from the east by hordes of Chinese, Islamic and INdian forces, and after all of the Middle East has fallen and the last vestage of freedom is whooly surrounded in what is left of Israel...Mr. Head weaves a very interesting and compelling foundational moral plot line into the background of the overall war story. That plot line ultimately has the most astounding impact on the overall plot.

In the end, three decisive battles cap off this novel and end up, along with that moral underpinning, turning the tides of war.

I would recommend this series to anyone.

The characterization is very well done, their is great attention to technical detail in the battle descriptions all around the world, and the exciting and compelling nature of the whole story just grabs you and just will not let go.

Summary: Military enthusiast in LA
Review: This third novel in Mr. Head's epic Dragon's Fury Series is by far the most compelling.

All along Mr. Head has mixed a number of social, political, immigration, and other issues into his writing about an all too believable global war developing out of current circumstances. But in this novel he brings it all together amidst the excitement and intrigue to hammer home the relevancy of underlinging moral values to the cause of America's liberty. I will not go into too much detail, but suffice it to say that the effect was, in my opinion, stunning.

In this novel, America finally starts to turn a corner and realize some positive offensive action in the global war it has been forced into against Red China and its allies, including a confederation of the fuindamental Islamic nations. In a pivotal set of circumstances that will have historians recognizing the historical relevance of events over 60 years ago...Russia s drawn into the conflict on a huge scale as well.

I can't say enough about the excitement, intrigue, attention to historical and technical detail, and the characterization that is woven into these novels. Anyone who is a fan of this genre will want to read the entire series.
