Rating: Summary: My First Wilson Novel but NOT my last!! Review: "Nightwatcher" was my first novel by Charles Wilson but certainly won't be my last. Though I wish Wilson added some additional detail, there is certainly NO fluff and all story. A great one-evening read, perfect for travel.
Rating: Summary: COMPLEX BUT INVOLVING THRILLER Review: Brandon Roberts, the hero of NIGHTWATCHER, wants justice served..and he wants revenge. His daughter, Judith, has been brutally murdered, and the initial suspects are three escaped mental patients. Judith worked at this mental hospital as a nurse, and was planning on moving on with her two daughters. She is murdered however before she can achieve this goal. Wilson leads us through a maze of plot entanglements, and gives us several suspects, including the woman's gay ex-husband; a snarly next door neighbor; maybe even a cop. We also meet a despicable patient named Minnefield who says he saw the murderer enter the cottage (it's on the institution's grounds, by the way). Roberts enlists the aid of both the local sheriff and a private investigator who helped Judith get her children back when the ex kidnapped them. The murderer's identity is apparent early on, but Wilson throws in enough doubt to make you wonder along the way. A good, crisp thriller.

Rating: Summary: Fast-paced and thrilling Review: I actually stumbled on to this novel quite by accident while looking for a book by another Wilson, F. Paul Wilson. When I picked up "Nightwatcher" and read the back cover, I was hooked. I normally read a little bit of a book and then put it down for a while, but with this novel that just wasn't going to be the case. "Nightwatcher" is one of those types of books that you almost scorch burn your fingers getting the pages turned.Built on great characterization and a well-crafted plot, "Nightwatcher" will be a hit with readers who enjoy serial-killer -type thrillers. The setting of the book, a Mississippi state mental hospital, is a suitably creeping location and gives the book a "Silence of the Lambs"-type feel. As a matter of fact, in this writer's humble opinion, "Nightwatcher" is very comparable to "Silence..." without copying it. If you like Thomas Harris, James Patterson, or Rex Miller, you'll really enjoy "Nightwatchers". In my case, I know that from now on I'll be looking for books from two Wilsons instead of one!
Rating: Summary: Thilling reading Review: The father of the murdered girl, Ricards is on the go, after the killer and seems to have suspected and caught the wrong guy. Than all of a sudden he has him, the killer, in his sights. The John Douglas hospital, the keeper of the criminally insane is the best spot to have been picked for this story, the Mississippi area is very interesting. This is a thriller that will keep you on your toes, I didn't want to put this one down at all. Great reading.
Rating: Summary: I loved it Review: This book was very fast paced. It was a real page turner. It kept me in suspense and made me feel like I was a part of it. Does not have any boring parts. Like some books you hit a few chapters you'd like to skip over. The story is about a woman who gets murdered in her own home. Brendan Richards, the deceased father is out to find the murderer and he won't stop til he finds him. He finds out some pretty disturbing things about his daughter he didn't know but did not let that bother him. It was very hard to decide who the murderer is, just when you think who it might be something else turns up. On a scale of 1-10, my husband gave it a 7 and I gave it a ten. But his favorite books are more adventurous type. Once in a while he reads a mystery.
Rating: Summary: Gripping but reminscent of another monster. Review: This was the first book I've read by Charles Wilson and I loved it! I normally don't read an author that hasn't been reviewed by a friend so I took a chance with this one. I was pleasantly surprised. The suspense made it difficult to put the book down. I couldn't wait to get to the end to find out who committed the crime. I will definitely read more books by this author.

Rating: Summary: Gripping but reminscent of another monster. Review: Within the first 30 pages I was on the edge of my seat with no plans of putting this book down. As the main characters of the plot come forward and reveal themselves, so does a memory of another book with a scene around a psychopathic mass murderer. The plot continues with as much intensity as it began rushing me to a great twist turner of an ending. This is my favorite Charles Wilson book so far, but I was constantly reminded of the similarity with another psychopathic mass murderer who has become famous in the media recently. Definitley worth reading but a copycat of a story line.
