Summary: Confusing indeed
Review: And I'm not talking about the fact that Michael McGowan was suddenly "demoted". You'll have to read the next installment in the series to find out why.
What I found confusing was the whole "Goodwillie tainted water" number. So many references are being made, but we never learn what exactly went on, to a point where I actually thought I had accidentally skipped an episode.
Also, if you're not familiar with the confusing real estate laws of California, you'll be completely lost.
Jackie and McGowan are finally an item. Not exactly the most sizzling romance, but it'll be interesting to see what is going to happen next.

Summary: A bit confused.
Review: I was a bit confused with this book. I had read Cleary's previous books to this one which I thought were great. When I got to this third book, things were not consistent with the other books. The detective in Cleary's books is a Detective McGowan. In the last book, he had been promoted from a Lieutenant to a Captain. In Skull and Dog Bones, he's back to a Lieutenant without even an explanation, or did Cleary just forget? Inconsistencies is a real turnoff. You may enjoy this book if you read it without havingread the others. I get confused as to which is even the next book to read. As I have said, inconsistent in facts.
