Review: Patricia Ann Phillips has done an outstanding job illustrating the story of a woman who endured some pain, but still came out on top. I recommend this book to anyone who thinks that once tradegy occurs it is the end because this book shows you how it can be the beginning of something even better.

Review: This moving novel, set in modern Los Angeles, details an eventful year in the life of a young woman named Tracey and her close friends and family. It includes surprising plot twists, very likeable characters, and even some characters that we love to hate! The novel illustrates the importance of family and friends in overcoming adversity and in dealing with the consequences of the choices that we make in life. Although you may find this book under the African American Fiction section, I feel that it speaks equally well to women of all races. I highly recommend this book!

Review: Tracey Wood is excitedly getting ready to celebrate her third wedding anniversary with her family and husband. A devastating phone call informs her that her husband has been in a terrible automobile accident. She rushes to the hospital and what she learns there, turns her world upside down. Not only is her husband, Donald dead, but she also learns of his unfaithfulness. Sharon, his mistress, also perished in the accident. This storyline is the center of Patricia Anne Phillips' second novel, June in Winter.

Tracey finds it difficult to deal with the death of her husband, and it is even harder for her to accept that he was cheating on her. She buries herself in her work and in helping family and friends, neglecting any kind of social life. She rejects the idea of falling in love again, until she runs into Dr. Travis Howard a second time. He is smitten with Tracey, but she is reluctant to become involved with Dr. Howard since his sister was her deceased husband's mistress. Tracey has to come to the realization that she can not let Donald and Sharon's actions dictate who she can have a relationship with, therefore predicting her happiness. Dr. Howard is very persistent in helping Tracey to deal with her grief and to find love again.

While this is a typical and predictable romance, excellent secondary characters and sub-plots add some spice to the tale. Tracey's sister, Robin and the fatal attraction story, adds suspense. Aunt Flora adds wisdom and finds a companion of her own. Wendy, Michelle and Stella bring their own kind of uniqueness to the story. I think romance readers will find this book a worthwhile read.

Review: Tracey woods was an hardworking woman and so was her husband Donald they have planned to celebrate their 3 year anniversary but the surprising part is that he don't make it home and then later she recieves an shocking call that he has been in an accident that threw her off for monthes she spends time with her family to forget the nightmares of her husband Donald and secret mistress that he was having affair with she thens run into the mistress's brother at the hospital and then he falls in love with her and can't stop the affection for me later they then hit it off and now she has to help her cheating sister it 's a good good book for romantic book reader it will catch your eye!

Review: You've heard the saying, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." For the main character, Tracey Woods, there are no truer words except in June in Winter, by Patricia Ann Phillips; there is no one for Tracey to bestow her fury on.

Tracey Wood has planned a celebration for her third wedding anniversary with her husband and family. As they wait for his return from a business trip, she receives a devastating phone call informing her that her husband Donald has been in an automobile accident. She arrives at the hospital only to learn that Donald is dead, along with her husband's mistress, Sharon. Mistaken for Donald's daughter by Sharon's brother Dr. Travis Howard, as he extends his condolences and says how much in love Donald and Sharon were. This information turned Tracey's world upside down. She is forced to question everything she knew and believed regarding her marriage.

Tracey has difficulty dealing with her husband's death. It's even harder for her to accept that he was unfaithful to her. She buries herself in her work and in helping family and friends with their lives she neglects to have any kind of life of her own outside of work. Tracey catches a glimpse of Dr. Howard at Donald's funeral and afterwards pays her a visit to apologize for his actions at the hospital. He becomes smitten with Tracey, but she is reluctant to become involved with him because of his sister. Will Tracey be able to overcome the obstacle that Donald and Sharon created? Or will this mountain prove too big for Tracey and Travis to climb to find love and happiness?

This story is not your typical predictable romance story. It is filled with excellent secondary characters and sub-plots that add spice to the mix. Through Tracey's sister, Robin and the fatal attraction ordeal, suspense and blackmail is added to further pique your interest. Aunt Flora adds her words of wisdom.

June in Winter was a very enjoyable read and I think romance readers will find this book worthwhile. I look forward to other works by this author.
