Rating: Summary: The Convention by Jeff T. Travis Review: As an avid reader I have read good, Ok, bad, and books that were so bad I didn't even finish. "The Convention" by Jeff T. Travis falls into the excellent book catagory. This book was so well written that you will feel the emotions of the characters. I couldn't put it down until I had finished reading and didn't even notice the passage of time. can't wait for the next one to come out.
Rating: Summary: Not just another book Review: I recently read The Convention. I read a lot and it is hard for me to find books I will remember a week or so later because many are so much alike. This book was definately different and I would highly recommend it. It was very unique and you can tell the author is an independent thinker. There were a few times I wondered the connection between seemingly different parts of the book - but don't give up, it comes together in the end and IT IS WELL WORTH IT and may not be exactly what you expect. It will make you think and keep you thinking well after the read is done. It left me with that strange and sometimes comforting and sometimes spooky feeling that life is much bigger than what we typically realize in our everyday affairs. When finished, you will not simply put it down and forget about it.
Rating: Summary: The Convention Review: I very much enjoyed reading this book and look forward to the next in the series. It was very easy to read and once I started, I had a hard time putting it down. Thanks Jeff for writing this very inspirational book!!
Rating: Summary: Be the change you wish to see in the world...... Review: It is easy to understand from his book that Jeff Travis understands this concept. And, I think he would he appreciate that it was Ghandi who said those inspiring words. (Because it's not about who a man follows, as much as it is about who a man is willing to become.) This thought-provoking and heartwarming book tells it like it is: A wise person doesn't just talk about doing the things that matter the most - such as caring for his family -a wise person uses every moment he is given to DO the things that matter the most. Additionally, a wise person knows what those things are and never forgets them no matter how distressing or extraordinary the circumstance in which he finds himself - like the main character in this book. If you are looking for a feel-good story with some real meat and substance to it, you won't be dissapointed here. I am recommending it to all my friends and family for the Holiday season. It's bound to spread the love and goodwill I feel for them.
Rating: Summary: Great concept with a great message! Review: Jeff's book is a revelation of surprises! The narrator, Michael, contains and pushes the thread of the story by driving responsibility, accountibilty, and actions as the perfection of love, faith, and hope. There is a freedom in this story that sends the message of hope during times of great distress and tragedy. It is a wonderful example of how coincidence is not coincidence and how every action or inaction is part of a well-conceived plan. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is coping with how the world has changed since 9/11. Great job, Jeff! I look forward to your next one!
Rating: Summary: "343 Brothers Lost" Review: Mr. Jeff Travis has put together a modern day masterpiece in this book. Words simply can't describe how I was able to connect with this book. I picked it up as soon as I got it and read it from cover to cover. (Just so you know, I've never done that before). A Christian, a Professional Firefighter, and big hearted person, I can't help but believe that their is very little fiction in this book. This book was clearly written from a man that was very in tune with God and with his heart. I know Mr. Travis has impacted "My Life" in a positive way. This story was a very respectful way to remember the loss we had on that terrible day and to have Love, Hope, & Faith with Love being the Greatest. God Bless You Jeff! - Scott Eric Smith
Rating: Summary: Worth reading! Review: Over the past three days, I have been reading this book. Last night I finished it, and was completely taken aback. I was blown away, inspired, and comforted all at the same time. The best part, is that it's based on true events. I truly think this book is worth your time. I guarantee you will be amazed at how everything relates to something else, and nothing is as it seems. In just a few pages, Jeff has managed to evoke so many different emotions. It is part one of three, and I can't wait for the other parts to be published!! I have every intention of reading this book again over the weekend - it's that good. Thank you, Jeff.
