Rating: Summary: Forgotten Heroes Review: A fascinating character study of how an outstanding soldier and true leader comes to grips with the realization that the war he has been thrust into is far less than the "noble conflict" our leaders have led us to believe. "El Tee"'s devotion to his men and his country make him a true hero in my mind. SALUTE, "El Tee", for a job well done. May the deeds of you and your "brothers" never be forgotten. A MUST READ

Rating: Summary: Exquisitely Woven Emotions Review: I laughed; I cried; I bit my nails to the quick as my mind crept through the war-torn jungle alongside El Tee and his brothers. I was granted access, however briefly, into the heart of a leader. Through his eyes, I met some extraordinary men; through his mind I came to understand why our troops in Vietnam felt so abandoned.I read excerpts of this book to another Vietnam vet, a dear friend who was awarded a Purple Heart. This man had never spoken of his combat tour, not to his wife, his children or his friends, but I knew he could answer my questions about El Tee's locations. At first, he was very quiet but finally said: 'I've been there.' He asked me to read on and I heard the softly-spoken words: 'I was there, too. I saw that; I felt that ... ' Finally, he asked if he could read the book. For the first time in 30-odd years, he began to open up and talk about the war. It was a time of healing for a good man. Now, my dear friend has begun a long and arduous recovery because of the extraordinary power of 'Orphaned Heroes.' I believe that virtually every combat veteran will find a connection within its pages; for those of us that loved and lost a combat vet, without ever knowing why, it holds long-sought answers. This story does more than entertain, it heals.
Rating: Summary: The REAL Vietnam Review: I've read a lot of books about Vietnam. This is the best. The camraderie between the characters is heart rending and the action gripping. If you want to know what it was really like, read this book. My Vietnam vet friends think it's the best they've read, too.
Rating: Summary: The REAL Vietnam Review: Like a time machine, Orphaned Heroes took me back to the sights, smells and fears I knew in Vietnam. "El Tee" and his men were the soldiers I knew; all of us who struggled to survive. Anyone who wants to know about this time and place, Vietnam, should read this book.
