Summary: Peter Benchley's "Amazon" by Rob MacGregor
Review: This book is a collection of Puritanical beliefs, South American Tribal Beliefs, and one young man torn between them. Every person who has ever felt that s/he is a part of something will enjoy this story. The story is engaging, keeps the reader rooting for the lad, and makes the reader think about his/her own beliefs. There is enough history in it that one can make their own deductions, and still have room for some mysticism. Also, it has no gratuitous violence, sex, or profanity which makes it a rare gem. Typos aside, it is a fun book that reads easily, and should take the reader 5 hours or less to finish (without a dictionary).

Review: This is definitely one of those books you read to escape into. It is very fast-paced, full of action and adventure. Not a think piece. Just a great "escape" book. It has shipwrecks, pirates, kidnappings, mystical adventures, lust, and fierce rivalries. What more could you ask for in an escape from your everyday world?
