Rating: Summary: The Firefly Review: I am holding my breath and waiting for the next "Boxer" novel. In the tradition of Robert Parker..........please do not let this man fade away. There are people out there clawing their way back from the brink and they need hero's to help them. The rest of us need the escape! Cudos to the author. You have my attention! Bravo.........8~)p.s. If "Boxer" is a real person. I need a date!

Rating: Summary: For the love of Los Angeles Review: I was immediately pulled in by the sardonic description of the LA bar scene. Much to my reading pleasure, Los Angeles continued to be a major character throuhout the book. Boxer is the perfect hero in all his imperfection. The story is new and has loads of intrigue, drama and suspense along with a host of compelling and expertly depicted characters. What more can you ask for? Ah yes, a sequel. If you love LA you will love this book!

Rating: Summary: A new hard-boiled (anti) hero! Review: Marlowe, Hammer, Scudder and, now... Boxer. What a find! Steven Mann has, without a doubt, created fiction's next great detective. A hard-boiled, hard-drinking ex cop who is sometimes difficult to love--but impossible to resist. Between belts of whiskey, Boxer follows a twisting (and sometimes twisted) plot through the underbelly of L.A., battling crooked lawyers, drug lords and his own demons. As a human being, Boxer is as flawed as they come. As a character, he's as close to perfect as you can get. Boxer may be a guy on the way down but he takes us on a hell of a ride! Thank you, Steven Mann!
Rating: Summary: What a great Mystery Lovers find Review: Sat down and read it in one sitting. Great characters and what a great setting, gritty Hollywood, San Fernando Valley, Malibu. This author knows the area, the art world, the music world, and the underworld. What a great find. Hope he has more books on the way.
