Summary: Pike Place Market Mystery
Review: Dahlia Connection by Michael Dovell is a fast-paced novel of intrigue and mystery leavened with sex and romance, or at least the quest for sex and romance. Deacon Davenport, or Deek, a middle-aged guy, generous and faithful to his friends, never needs a stiffener for his sex life. With a setting in Seattle's colorful Pike Place Market with its cacophony of characters and tongues, Davenport is gonna save his woman but he's got to get rid of Ricci and his goons. The Market's warren of stalls and stairs adds spice to the heady mix of both savory and unsavory characters. Some of these guys you don't want to meet in any dark corner of the market. His other characters are so endearing, you'll make your way to their stalls to get your lettuce and next year's calendar. Dovell's many years working in the stalls give him an intimate and unique view of the Market. He has put together a story written in a style fast and sharp that reflects the thoughts of Davenport. Focus! Focus, Deacon! Oh yeah. Focus.
