Rating: Summary: monotone tome Review: a disbarred lawyer and his delinquent son are both acccused of the same murder.the protagonist's quiet determination is rendered in a tediously depressing and nearly emotionless tone and the pacing is ploddingly big booted.
Rating: Summary: A page turner from start to finish...... Review: Excellent read. I started it on the plane heading on vacation, finished late evening. The author really kept my interest nearly through to the end, though it seemed to end a bit flat......a great read nevertheless. I'll be looking for the next one out from Hanstein.
Rating: Summary: I Couldn't Put it Down Review: I finished this book the same weekend I started it, and I liked everything about it. I just hope the author writes another one, so I can find out what happens next for old Pete Morris.
Rating: Summary: Grisham of the North Review: Not Proven is the 4th in Woody Hanstein's Pete Morris series.
As a Mainer, I can attest to the truth of Hanstein's characters and settings. No super heroes - just ordinary people involved in the trials of modern life in contemporary Maine. I feel as though Hanstein and I both know and love the same kind of people . . . . The ones whose lives are flawed but who are working toward a just and compassionate world.
Each of Woody's books are fast paced and easy to read. However, they are not slick, sophomoric, and do not resort to sleaze to keep our interest. As a practicing attorney, his insights into
the workings of our legal system provide a solid framework on which to build believable plots.
I'm eagerly awaiting his next novel.
Rating: Summary: Bye Bye Potter Review: You may think I'm biased, because I am related to the author, but this is the best legal thriller that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. New twists and turns around every page! This is one book I could not put down. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole ride. Pete Morris is a extremely down to earth and realistic character. This book has earned all of it's five stars.
