Rating: Summary: I can't wait for the film! Review: If you are a fan of Clive Barker's (Coldheart Mountain perhaps) or Stephen King's (Misery?), then you will certainly enjoy this book."The Piper" is very well written, extremely engaging (for a wonderful show, the author steps from behind the curtain and speaks directly to the reader - well done and enjoyable), and a relatively fast read at about 270 pages. Malone develops a highly detailed mythology that serves to draw the reader deeper into the story and creates characters you will care about - they are believeable (no super heros ... real-life people with problems of their own). The writing style is down to earth, and VERY visual - and it is no wonder since the novel was adapted from a multi-award winning screenplay (not vice versa). This book provides the reader with chances to laugh (sometimes outloud), and does an exceptional job of disturbing, creeping you out, and genuinely horrifying you.
