Review: This book originally came out a few years ago from a small publisher who did not properly promote it. It received a solid review from Library Journal at that time, but the publisher went bust. Now it has a new publisher and Barnett has volumes 2-3 in the works. The book works well as a reference tool, but is also useful for browsing or identifying authors worth further exploration. Each female sleuth receives her due, with sections on trends in the developing genre. Essential reading for those who live on mysteries.
