Summary: Seeing Double
Review: Grant Montgomery, the mentalist hero of Bob Aiello's new book, picks up right where he left off in "The Deceivers" - that is, using his knowlege of magic and trickery to outwit and ultimately defeat the perpetrator of a crime.

It seems that this time around, the great mentalist who was Grant's mentor, finds himself ill and dying. He's being cared for by his twin daughters - one of whom was an old flame of Montgomery's. Though he's no longer interested in the daughter, he's very much concerned with the health and well being of his old friend. And when he discovers that his friend has died, he becomes suspicious. Circumstances suggest that one of the daughters may be a murderess, but which one? It's impossible to tell because these are identical twins - and the evil twin has figured out a way to fob herself off as her sister to throw Montgomery off the track, and not coincidentally, to kill her sister in the bargain. Montgomery, of course, can't be fooled, and uses a combination of wit and experience to root out the evil-doer. But there's a problem. How does Montgomery convince the police to search the twins' residence to determine if a seemingly innocent woman is guilty of one murder - and possibly a second - when the court has no basis for issuing a warrant and the murderess has left no clues?

Well, you'll just have to read the book to find out, and you'll be glad you did. Once again, Aiello takes us through a series of twists, turns, double-blinds and switchbacks as he weaves a plausible tale of subtlety and murder. It's all set against the backdrop of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (not, coincidentally, Aiello's home town) which seems and unlikely spot to find a sophisticated murder mystery. But, as Aiello would likely tell you, murder never takes a holiday. And in Aiello's world of cops, robbers and retired mentalists there's foul play aplenty.

Shadow in the Mirror is a juicy, slick tale of deception and trickery - not to mention a side order of steamy sex. In short, it's everything a mystery lover would love, and the sooner you read it, the better.

Summary: Super Summer Reading
Review: In "Shadow in the Mirror", Grant Montgomery returns as the handsome, exciting protagonist in this latest book by author, Robert Aiello. Mr. Aiello has provided a set of luscious twins, one good, one evil, to tempt our hero. Add to this mix, a vicious ex-con who blames Mr. Montgomery for his jail sentence and plans his revenge at the business end of a wicked ice-pick and you have a thriller that will pique your interest to the very end. The fact that Grant Mongomery is a mentalist by profession adds complexity to the plot. This book is a "must add" to your summer reading library.

Summary: A TERRIFIC THRILLER
Review: Robert Aiello takes a plot and characters that are very real and creates a story that keeps us in suspense. Just when I thought I had it figured out and began guessing what was going to happen next, he fooled me . . . Grant Montgomery is fast becoming one of my favorite fictional characters and I can see him right up there with Dirk Pitt . . . Needless to say, I can't wait for the next one.

Summary: A SUSPENSE NOVEL THAT WILL KEEP YOU RIVETED
Review: This is Robert Aiello's second Grant Montgomery thriller and his best. The story is compelling with an old flame reentering Grant's life. He becomes ensnared in the murder of his old friend and must face a sadistic criminal with an old score to settle. Forbidden romance, bloodshed, poison and a body that shouldn't stay buried confront Grant as he races against time to unlock a dark secret, only to face a deadly double threat. This is one suspense novel that will keep you reading into the wee hours of the morning. Don't pass this one up.
