Summary: Not for the Family Values crowd!
Review: "Smashed" isn't for the faint of heart or politically correct. It's a real page-turner, a hardboiled NewYork cops vs. hackers thriller set in 2040 Manhattan. Stylistically, it's a weird mix of Spillane and Thomas Pynchon that gets real vulgar in parts - if you like your novels to dip below the belt like Hunter S. Thompson or William Burroughs, you'll love this one.

If Brad Pitt ever gets the urge to do another oddball screen role like "Fight Club", he need not look any further - the character Lt. Perry Donohue is unforgettable, and the storyline is wild, especially the car virus angle... makes you think twice about all the computerized gadgets cars come with nowadays.

Summary: gender-bending, gonad-bashing joyride
Review: She takes a tough Irish cop, handcuffs him spread-eagled to the bed, has her way with him, and leaves him there shackled and spent. Ever wonder what might make a woman do such a thing? Ever wonder how a guy might react to something like that? The answers to these and many more burning questions lie between the covers of Walter von Wegen's new novel "Smashed" - but only if you have the fortitude to endure a high-speed ride through the sewers of New York, careening off of sexual deviation here, high-tech drug abuse there, bizarre body-mods everywhere, all fueled by the quirkiest brand of humor since Hunter S. Thompson and the late lamented Douglas Adams.
Lock your inhibitions in the basement and enjoy the rush!
