Summary: Great Buddha, have you heard? This is a delightful series!
Review: Annie Griffin has created a place called Hill Creek I love to visit. Each book in this series just gets better and better, a wonderful, skillful mix of mystery, humor, and emotion. Her characters are superbly drawn. I know that if Hill Creek were real, I would go directly to Lady Nails so I could hear all the good gossip. Naomi would be there to give me spiritual advice (or at least her card with the 900 number on it), Kiki would give me advice on my love life (then I'd know what not to do!), Wanda would tell me about her dog, who's really a reincarnation of her uncle, I might see Lauren and encourage her to go after Morgan, and if I were very lucky, I might find the wise and thoughtful Hannah quietly reading a gardening magazine.

If you haven't tried a Hannah and Kiki mystery, get this one. The series doesn't have to be read in order. Besides, if you miss this book, you'll miss out on one of the most exciting uses for cornmeal I've ever heard.

Summary: Love and the single corpse
Review: Five stars! The zany characters in this book kept me laughing the whole time. Being a Marin County resident myself, I especially enjoyed Griffin's satire of the area. This is a great light read that will leave you in a good mood. Can't wait to see what Kiki and Hannah are up to next!

Summary: Once (a year) is not enough
Review: Hannah and Kiki, you're cool! My friends and I enjoyed this book so much I would gladly pay $500 for another just like it. I'm trying to get Annie Griffin to participate (by phone) in a special book club meeting devoted to her wonderful series. Honest, I'm not all the way back to the real world after finishing "Love and the Single Corpse"--and that's fine with me! Buy it, read it, then share it with your friends, you'll triple the fun.

Summary: EXCELLENT
Review: The characters in this book are pretty bizarre, but I didn't figure out the murderer until the end, always a good point. Enjoy it but don't expect Agatha Christie.
