Review: This is a brilliant first crime novel and I am surprised it has received so little attention. According to the inside writing, it was originally under contract with an Australian publisher, but that obviously fell through. It reminds me of early Cornwells, when she used to write them so well. The lead character Helen Santos is believeable as a crime-scene investigator and the forensic research in this book is nothing far from amazing -- it's blended brilliantly with the story line. But the big surprise is the ending, which I won't give away. This is more than a crime book, but a tense psychological thriller which makes you think how well you really know the people you think you know. BUY IT NOW! BRILLIANT AND A PAGE-TURNER!
