Summary: My Uncle Has a Beautiful Mind
Review: George H. Calohan, in now in his 60s. He has spent almost half of his life New York City. After being estranged from his brothers in the mid 1960s, he has led a life of his own.

What is known is this; he has a BA and a MA in Mathematics. He did a one-year internship with NASA during the Apollo program. He was in the United States Army Reserves. George was born and raised in Missouri.

So why would a nephew who has never met him write a review of his book? I bought his book on the premise that maybe he was a detective on the case. I also bought it hoping to see something on the jacket that would reveal his current appearance, pictures of his life, the real George and his life. So already there are two strikes against this book.

This is nothing more than the ramblings of a man who both enjoys the Son of Sam storyline and incorporated himself into the mix in order to purge the demons inside of him. If you enjoy fiction mixed with reality this book is for you.

I find it ironic that a man, who used Biblical reference, could not find it in his heart to forgive his brother. Which could explain why the book was published the same month my father died. Perhaps that's why my uncle has a beautiful mind. It's a shame that he wasted it.

Summary: Not worth the money
Review: I think that I can sum up my advice for someone wanting to read this book in four words... Read the bible instead. I think that George Calohan wanted to be a preacher rather than a cop because he spent the entire book quoting scripture and describing his own spiritual growth and trials rather than discussing the actual hunt for the Son of Sam. I purchased the book in hopes of understanding the ins and outs of a police investigation or learning about the ways in which the police caught this famous serial killer, but instead got a sunday school lesson. I would highly recommend buying any book other than this one. Something by Dr. Seuss would be more relevant to the subject...
