Summary: Where Illusions Rule...
Review: The first story in this collection, Quasar Physical, picks up where the last story in Quasar 169: Silver Sphere Sightings left off with the hero and heroine seperated and possibly never getting together again...yeah, like I'd do that to you. Physical, I must admit, is one of the least liked stories I've written for the series. It features hero Alex Roglitz paired with a new cutie, but no Quasar 169. I actually wanted to omit it entirely, but a future story needs it for its jumping off point, and thus, as a critical component it stays. QuasarMoon is surprisingly well received, though it features heroine Amanda almost exclusively, while introducing us to new character Geoff McKenna (the hero of my mystery Trumpet Of The Unicorn). Why my readers liked Moon and not Physical is a bit beyond me, but no matter. I'm honest about it. You have to judge it for yourself. Quasar Real features the main characters reunited and working undercover to find out why the rich and reclusive have been paying exorbitant sums to a greasy little Manhattan arcade owner to visit his back room, then never return again. It features a nasty little twist midstream that changes the whole flavor of the story, going from interesting and funny to wickedly surreal and shocking. Illusion truly rules in this particular tale of deception, greed, and murder. Finally, Quasar Sleep has the small town of Moncton, New Brunswick being quietly taken over by the Silver Sphere aliens who originally abducted Alex's mother. With the aid of new recruit Geoff McKenna, Alex still may not have what it takes to halt a potential worldwide invasion. Would I do that to you? Only one way to find out! Quasar 169: Physical Evidence can take you even further with its scheduled release of spring/summer 2004!
