Rating: Summary: Not a Matt Scudder type novel. Review: "Five Little Rich Girls," by Lawrence Block is the third in a series of novels about Chip Harrison, the teen-age assistant to the world famous detective, Leo Haig. Harrison answers an ad which reads "Resourceful youth wanted to assist detective. Low pay, long hours. Familiarity with tropical fish helpful but not absolutely necessary." Chip answered the ad because he was on the lookout for a job with a future. Chip believes the death of a girl from an overdose of heroin was murder. She was one of five rich girls(sisters), four of which die in the novel. Were they related? Were they all murders? Chip and Haig believe so. "Five Little Rich Girls," a short novel, under 150 pages. Is good but not as exciting as Block's Matt Scudder series or interesting as his books about Bernie Rhodenbarr, "The Burglar Who..." series.
