Review: Richard Hicks has penned a wonderful rollor-coaster ride through the class-action legal system and the dreams-meet-reality world of the West Coast. With all the legal nuances, yet humor of Paul Levine, and the colorful characters and crazy intersecting agendas of Carl Hiaason, Slender Fantasies moves quickly. I read it in one sitting, and loved every page of it.

Start with an attorney, capable but down on his luck. Add in a bulimic trophy girl, her all-business patron, two asian money-sharks wanna-be's and a terrific supporting cast and you've got a recipe for a fun ride through the courts, the class-actions, the inside workings of the mega-lawfirm, and the sound of over-inflated ego's deflating.

Try it, you'll love it, and you're only regret will be knowing that this is his first book and Hicks doesn't have a collection of such great stories to dive into...yet.
