Rating: Summary: Pleasantly Surprized Review: AS a retired member of the military with three assignments to the Republic of Korea (9 years), I was quite surprized with the main idea for the book. Too young for the Korean War, and kept in the dark with the history of this war while in high school, I could not imagine the plight of our servicemen during that war. This book helped me in understanding soemthing our country did not want remembered, the Korean War, and by association, the servicemen and women who were there during this time. My uncle was one of them, a frozen Chosen survivor. I also found that this book took me back to my beloved Korea and gave me the inspiration to do a little research on the war and the many missing in action US servicemen. Extrememly well written and containing the right amount of military jargon, readers will find the ending suspencefull. I would recommend this book to persons who served in the military and to their family members.
Rating: Summary: A Tribute To Those Who Serve on Freedoms Frontier Review: As a retired US Service member reading Milton Peterson's book "Sleeping Dragon" stirred many memories of the past within me. In my early military years I was one of those Intel Intercept Operators at a remote site in a foreign country monitoring a then enemy military force. Later in my military career I served in the hostilities of Vietnam. Still later I served and in a retired status am still serving our soldiers, saliors, airmen and marines and their families in Korea. I am more than vagely familiar with the settings so vividly depicted by Mr. Peterson in his book. The story line is well written, interesting and exciting. It also makes one wonder, just how many MIA's are still alive and wanting to come home? I strongly recommend Milton "Pete" Peterson's book "Sleeping Dragon". Good job Pete. What's next?
Rating: Summary: Review of the Sleeping Dragon Review: As a US Army Retiree/Korean Linguist, who has been serving in and out of Korea over the last 40 plus years I found this book a refreshing outlook of what could have and probably has happened in the past. I, like the man early in the book who was sitting on a radio, sat there on many lonely mountain tops for many long nights and listened to some wierd transmissions. With the knowledge that I have of North Korea, this story could have happened. Maybe it has and we don't even know about it. Pete kept me on the edge of my seat as I read every page and I was thoroughly pleased with this book. It will be kept on my bookshelf in a treasured place. I will have to read it once or twice a year just to make sure I got every little piece of information I overlooked in the previous reading. Good Job Pete. Looking forward to your next book.
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: Greetings from the shadow of Mt. Ararat. Yep, Pete is my best friend, and he named the Yeahoo of the book afer me. Go figure! Yes, I do work for the State Department; but, I am a "specialist" and will never be an Ambassador. Please note that I am also a retired Army Sergeant. I can attest to the setting of Pete's book, having served on KangWha for 15 months and in Korea for a total of over 13 years (not in a row). Pete's descriptions of places and offices bring back many memories. I felt that I personally knew each place. Is this book fiction? Well ... We will never know, will we? It seems so VERY real, that one can't really be sure. But, one thing is for sure, and that is that Pete has made it "seem" like it really happened. Great reading. I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended.

Rating: Summary: My Opinion Review: I have read the book "Sleeping Dragon" and found it to be very factual. The time frames, settings, and plot coincide with real life scenarios. The book is very well organized and the suspense keeps you interested to the last. A few surprises that make you use your intellect. Living in Korea for 30 years has helped me to understand the book and appreciate the story. However, even those who have never visited Korea can relate to the drama and story line. The publicity of POW/MIA stories makes you understand the plot in a true manner. In addition, the current events of North Korea can make you understand that this is a very realistic possibility. Recommend this book to anyone interested in both fiction and non-fiction. A truly delightful story with an interesting plot and even a love story from two perspectives.
Rating: Summary: Recommend Review: If you are into the mystery spy thriller this book is for you. This is a real page turner. As a former soldier stationed in Korea I always wondered if there were any POW/MIA's still alive in North Korea and what they would be doing to survive. This book gives a plausible idea of how a POW/MIA may be living/surviving. I highly recommend this book!
