Packing up her belongings Charity Parris leaves her brutalized past behind her for the safety of her family seeking to rebuild her life and career as a police officer in her father's precinct. Life is never that simple. Charity has a special gift that makes her an excellent cop. Her new partner, Josh Muldoon, just happens to be the boy she had a crush on in High School and her brother's best friend. Their first assignment is the murder of a young prostitute in the alley of a popular New York watering hole. Will she be able to suppress her lust for Josh and will they be able to solve the crime before her brother's future wife becomes the next victim? Will she find her past staring back at her? Nicole Getridge has written a fast paced police story filled with steamy lust and plenty of dark twists and turns. You will find it hard to put this one down. SHIELDED HEART by Nicole Getridge is a fast-paced, entertaining romance novel that leaves the reader wanting to go on to "just one more chapter" before turning out the light. The characters are engaging, the dialogue is brisk, and the scenarios are suspenseful yet believable. The author avoids the temptation to bog down the action with lengthy, unnecessary description and heavy-handed psychoanalysis of the characters. Instead Ms. Getridge portrays the main players as people worthy of the reader's sympathy and concern. Charity is recovering from the ravages of an abusive marriage yet she is a strong woman who is more than able to care for herself and meet life head on. Her psychic abilities add a unique dimension to Charity's personality as the reader observes her evolve from a cautious victim to the viable heroine. SHIELDED HEART is definitely worth a trip to the book store, but reader beware: Once the novel is begun, it's almost impossible to put it down. Congratulations to Nicole Getridge on a fine piece of work!

Review: Shielded Heart by Nicole Getridge is a moving novel, that will make you cry, laugh and love with the characters she has created. The book is a page turner, once you start reading you won't want to put it down until the end. Nicole brings Josh and Charity into your heart as the couple struggle to keep each other safe. There are several twist and turns to the story, with several surprises along the way. I recommend this book highly, it is a wonderful read.

Summary: Romance At Its Best
Review: Shielded Heart is a very entertaining tale. And you'll be eager to keep turning the pages of this steamy romance, too. This is a story that you may think you have figured out but the author dishes out a few surprises and does it quite successfully, too. Nicole Getridge delivers on this one and she'll leave you wanting more. The author has created some exceptional characters and I took a special interest in their well being from the get-go. Well, except for the ex-husband that you'll love to hate. I found the interaction between Charity and her brother, Brian, to be true to form. And the sexual tension between Charity and her brother's best friend, Josh, was simply brilliant, to say the least. Of course, I was nervous throughout much of the book, fearing that she was going to kill Candy off. Brian's love for her was poignant. And I would've been really disappointed if she had been sacrificed for the story. Look for future works by Nicole....I think she's here for the long haul!

brother's best friend, the sexual attraction between Charity and Josh

builds its way to a steamy adventure of romance as they can no longer
repress their desire for one another.

If love is not enough to keep her readers turning pages, Nicole adds
continuous mystery to her story involving Charity's brother Brian, and
fiancee Candy. A chain of events makes its way to surprise us all in the
end. This book of heated love, mystery, and the bond of family is one
that should be added to your must-read list. SHIELDED HEART is truly a
keeper!

Review: This is a book I highly recommend everyone read. You have a love story, a vilan, a hero and suspense all wrapped up in one. You will absolutely fall in love with Charity, Josh and their families. This story has twists and turns and will keep you wanting more. I am looking forward to reading more work by Nichole Getridge and I am most confident you will too. A most delightful read!
