Review: Cassie Richardson had led a very privileged life. Born to money, and now a famous author with money of her own, life had always been idyllic. Unless she counted her bitter divorce from Michael two years ago. But they were both mature enough to put their son, David, before all other arguments they might have. Which is why it scared Cassie so very much the night Michael called her, telling her that someone had kidnapped David, and wanted Michael to come get him. Alone. But then came that horrible moment while Michael was on the phone with her, and he was telling her that a car was coming towards him. Cassie would never forget how it sounded when Michael's car drove off the road. Right before they lost the connection, Michael told her to go to his partner on the police force, Jordan Callaghan. And she would. He was her only hope now of finding David.

Jordan had been Michael's partner for the last couple of years. He had never met Cassie before, although he had heard about her. He was completely unprepared for his reaction to her. Torn between his immediate attraction to her, and an overwhelming urge to protect her at all costs, Jordan was determined to find David. Once that was accomplished, he'd worry about what to do with Cassie. Only it wasn't that easy. For after Cassie got David home, she and Jordan discovered that it had been Cassie that the stranger was after all along! Now Jordan's top priority was keeping Cassie alive.

As if further complications were needed, Cassie kept seeing Michael around. But he was supposed to have died when his car went off the road! She would continue to feel guilty for being attracted to Jordan until she was sure Michael was gone. If nothing else, that gave Jordan the added incentive to investigate Michael's life up until the moment he drove off the cliff. He never imagined he'd discover the secrets that he did. How would he ever tell Cassie? For at some point, protecting her heart had become his most important mission in life. At all costs.

ONE EYE IN THE DARKNESS is a fabulous thriller! There were enough suspects to keep the reader wondering at who the villain truly was throughout the entire story. Yet it was never overcomplicated or overcrowded with too many characters. And I have to say that I'm a sucker for a white knight. Jordan was perfectly portrayed as one for Cassie's damsel in distress. The sparks flew off the pages when they were together!
 
Having never read anything by Lori Derby Bingley before, I was unsure what to expect. I was most definitely impressed! This story contains everything I love about a great story: romance, sexual sparks, and a good mystery thrown in the mix. I'll be on the lookout for the next one from her, and I'd recommend you do the same!

Review: Lori Derby Bingley has done it again! She has come up with another bestseller! When I read her debut novel "The Night She Came Home" it was one of the best books I'd ever read. But now I have to say that this one is, if possible, even better! A phone call in the middle of the night. Cassie discovering that her son is missing. And the violent death of her ex-husband. So many questions to be answered and Lori Derby Bingley answers them well. I was drawn into the book by an excellent intrigue and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. This is as good as it gets and I already find myself waiting for the next one!

Her heroine, Cassie, has the strength and resolve to rival any male lead but is willing to show her softer side and follow her heart. ONE EYE IN THE DARKNESS had me hook, line, and sinker from the first paragraph and I couldn't put it down until I was finished. ONE EYE IN THE DARKNESS IS an exceptional book not to be missed.
