Summary: Great true crime stories
Review: I've always been a fan of Mr. Haines...though I don't think too many people outisde of Canada have heard of him. This was, I believe, his first book and is still one of his best collections. The stories, unlike his newspaper stories, are told in full detail and makes a great difference. Instead of getting the essential details we get a bit more depth and fuller understanding of all the cases recounted. Also, Haines tends to avoid the pure soap opera trend that marrs so many real crime books. Sometimes he's even funny. =) All his books are well worth tracking down.
