Rating: Summary: Loved It! Review: Being from Anoka, Minnesota, I was quite amused when reading Seeking Out Harry. How Minnesotan Linda Coleman ever chose my hometown is beyond me, although, surprisingly, it seemed the perfect setting for Cassie Callahan to live. Coleman nailed Anoka, blue collar, clannish, small townish despite its size, yet the only place on earth to live like it was for family patriarch Angelo Scarpelli. It's a wonderful, meaty book, and the only thing preventing five stars was its lack of better editing. But Coleman will get it right next time. She definitely has a knack for characters.
Rating: Summary: The Characters Rock Review: Coleman created interesting characters by getting into their heads and bringing them to life. Jack and Cassie kept me reading. They really rocked this book.
Rating: Summary: An Interesting Read Review: Coleman has woven dynamic, real characters and a creative plot to make a highly interesting read. I recommend Seeking Out Harry.
Rating: Summary: The World According to Cassie. . . Review: I found Cassie's world extremely humerous and entertaining. This, despite that her world had a dark, serious, and sad side to it when all was said and done. In the meantime, I enjoyed her world and felt it's energy. She was one book character that I'm not soon to forget. Congratu- lations to fledgling author, Coleman.
Rating: Summary: Original with an interesting twist. Review: I'd waited several months to get "Seeking Out Harry" and, despite it was too long and could have been pared down a little, I wasn't disappointed.Being a writer myself, I was intrigued how Coleman wove the concept of 'true passion'or perhaps more precisely 'what price passion?'into this original plot. 'Harry Hannigan', the book character of main character Cassie Callahan essentially brings together Cassie and Jack, two people who should have 'never' gotten together.I tried to think of another book out there that used this twist and I couldn't. It's like a book within a book. Interesting. And the story, actually two stories that eventually connect, is interesting as well. Good going, Linda. You were using your imagination on that one.
Rating: Summary: The characters are realistic. Review: I've never written a book nor even a short story, but when reading about novel writing through the eyes of main character Cassie Callahan, I could feel the difficulty. And I couldn't help asking myself, Was this Coleman while she was writing "Seeking Out Harry" ? It was that realistic to me. As well, I've never in real life, met an actor of pornography, but I felt like I did in this book.Although the writing was graphic in some parts,I saw the necessity. The immersing into Jack's dark world made me feel his torture. If I hadn't felt it, I would have never sympathized with him. When the two got together, I had tears in my eyes. It was so wrong and so right at the same time. The book was a different type of love story and I appreciated being transported away from the status quo.I hope to read more books by Linda Coleman.
Rating: Summary: Refreshing! Review: In Linda Coleman's first endeavor, Seeking Out Harry, the characters and plot were highly unusual. Not your run-of-the-mill. It was refreshing to read 'fresh' and 'new'.
Rating: Summary: The Characters Are Wonderful Review: Jack Torelli, Cassie Callahan, and the cast of people they both encounter on their lifes' journeys are the perfect blend to move the plot to the sizzling climax. Was it really passion? For new author Linda Coleman, it was. Plenty of passion was thrown into these wonderful characters. Keep it up!
Rating: Summary: It Made Me Laugh Review: Linda Coleman took a serious topic and wove it, when you least expected, with humor. Cassie was soooo funny, I found myself laughing out loud. Even when Cassie was faced with a custody battle for her daughter, Coleman could find humor with Cassie's hilarious trip to the psychiatrist and her old, old lawyer. It's a book you have to read.
Rating: Summary: Read It. Review: Linda Coleman's Seeking Out Harry had an interesting plot, deep, well-developed characters, and a personality all its own. I recommend it to readers who like a little 'vive' with their books.
