Summary: A good new mystery author
Review: I'm an avid mystery reader, and Spider Song compares favorably with the rest of the genre. It is well written, and the plot moves along; at times I had trouble putting it down. It is in the classic closed group of suspects category (a college town setting), and the clues are provided for those who are awake enough to catch them. (I saw several of them, but did not figure out their significance.) The major characters are intelligent females, and, in fact, several are lesbian, which plays an important role in the plot. If that bothers you, you will probably not like this book, but as a mystery, it is quite good.
