Summary: I Wanted to Like This Book
Review: Mel's life is thrown upside down when her father's body is found on a lonely country road after he committed suicide. But Mel is convinced that he was really murdered for something he knew. And when her life is threatened as she starts the investigation, she concludes she was right.

I really wanted to like this book. The idea of an investigator fictionalizing a case appealed to me. But I was disappointed. The plotting was uneven, sometimes causing me to skim ahead to get back to the story. The characters seemed stiff and I really didn't come to care for any of them. The solution was satisfying, however. With a good editing job, this book could have gone from poor to enjoyable.

Summary: I could not put this book down until I finished it!!
Review: Ms. Spizer has crafted a mystery novel that keeps you guessing and is never dull. I had no clue "whodunit" until the end. I read it a second time and picked up the subtle clues she placed throughout the book. I can't wait until the next Harbour Point novel comes out to see if I have any better luck in figuring out the ending! I loved Mel's assertiveness and her drive to get to the truth about her father's death. I can easily imagine this book turned into a TV series.

Summary: Another Good Cops Book...
Review: This is really a great read. Mel is a cop's daughter turned Investigator who searches for the truth about her Father's death. She's a defiant, down-to-earth heroine. I liked the way this book was written but then I love a good mystery.
